Best Way to Wear Your Hair at Bedtime

Question: What is the best way to do your hair at bed time for it to grow. I changed my hair about last week because i did it so tight but i know i do it in a pony tail

YouTips4U: A very loose braid is always good at bedtime because it protects your hair from tangling during sleep. Too much tangling can cause breakage when you try to brush it out the next morning. If you don't like the little crimp you might get in your hair the next morning from the braid, you can also use soft scrunchies to make a loose ponytail at the base of your head and then add scrunchies on down your hair every 3-4 inches. I do have a video up on this on YouTube called Nighttime Hair Care. Please give it a look; I think you will find it helpful. Here is the link: Night/Bedtime Care Tips to Protect Long Hair & Minimize Tangles, Breakage, & Split Ends During Sleep

It's best to refrain from pulling your hair into any tight hairstyle. This causes excess strain on your roots and breakage.

  1. Love all of your videos - especially the long hair ones. Which brush do you recommend? I want to get a good one that won't damage my hair.

  2. Hi, thank you. There are many great brands and I really don't prefer one over the other. Choosing a natural boar bristle brush is mostly about size and the type and length of your hair. Short hair is best brushed and styled with a small brush as it is more comfortable and convenient to use. Use a large rectangular or oval-shaped brush for longer hair. A brush with a larger surface area will give you the most shine on longer hair. Also, you should consider choosing a boar bristle brush based on how thick your hair is. If you have thick, coarse hair, choose a brush with long bristles which will penetrate it easier. If you have fine hair, choose a brush with short bristles which will be much more gentle on your scalp. Hope that helps :o)
