Make Your Own Homemade Electrolyte Drink

EASY HOMEMADE ELECTROLYTE  DRINK RECIPE
(You can tailor it too!)

Feeling sluggish, low energy, or tired out. It may be because you need electrolytes!

Electrolytes are essential minerals that carry a positive or negative charge and are found in your blood, sweat, and urine. Electrolytes are composed of dissolved minerals. When essential minerals such as sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium, magnesium, phosphate, and bicarbonate dissolve in fluid they are called electrolytes. Electrolytes are used in your body's metabolic processes and are crucial to keeping your nervous system and muscles functioning properly and your internal environment balanced. Electrolytes, particularly sodium, help maintain fluid balance through osmosis which is the process by which water moves through your cells. If you are on a low sodium diet, a low carb diet, the keto diet, or you are sick with vomiting or diarrhea, then you may be susceptible to not getting enough sodium and/or having an electrolyte imbalance or deficiency. Also, if you exercise a lot or work physical labor, you will want to replace the sodium you lose through sweating. Having the right balance of electrolytes is crucial in maintaining your blood ph.

During the summer month it is especially important to be properly hydrated as the hotter temperatures cause the body to lose excess fluids in the form of sweat as your body works to keep you cool. People who exercise outdoors in the heat and people who do physical labor must pay particular attention to their hydration levels. Sometimes it's not enough to just drink plain water, but it's necessary to replace lost electrolytes as well. Unfortunately, many of the electrolyte drinks sold today are loaded with excess sugar and chemicals.  That's why I like to make my own homemade electrolyte drink for myself and my family. It's quick and easy and you can make it in advance so you have it on hand when you need it. Nothing helps you feel better faster on a hot day or after a workout than to replenish your electrolytes with this homemade electrolyte drink.

My recipe is simple. You will need the following:

Glass quart Jar or Container

Juice of One Fresh Lemon

1/4 tsp salt (iodized salt, himalayan salt, or sea salt)

*Fruit juice of your choice (optional and added to sweeten, see Note below)

Directions:  Fill a glass quart container with water. Add 1/4 tsp of salt and the juice of one fresh squeezed lemon (you can add more lemon if you like it more lemony). Stir to mix well and dissolve salt. Enjoy a cup when you need it.

Note: If you would like to add a little sweetness to your electrolyte drink, which I like to do because it gives me a little boost of energy, you can add a splash of cranberry juice or other natural low-in-sugar fruit juice of your choice. You can either add it to your quart of electrolyte drink or you can just add it to your cup as needed. Trader Joes, R.W. Knudsen, Lakewood, are among the brands that sell natural juices without added sugars or chemicals.

You will be amazed at how good you will feel when you hydrate properly.

Cauliflower Pizza Crust Recipe - Tastes Just Like Pizza!

Making the best cauliflower pizza crust can be so easy with my recipe! I show you step by step in my video below. There are so many recipes on the web and I tried a bunch of them. Some of them were complicated and time consuming, and others left me flat with the taste. Through trial and error I created my own recipe for a hearty and delicious cauliflower crust pizza that won't fall apart, and it tastes like real pizza! I share it with you in this video. The trick is to combine the right ingredients and then be sure to wait about ten minutes after it's done baking before you cut into it and try to pick it up, because just like ordinary grain crust pizza, you must let it settle a bit before you can slice and handle it. I hope you love my recipe as much as my family and I do! It's a real winner in our household. You get the robust zest of tomato and yummy stretchy mozzarella in every bite! Sundays have always been pizza Sundays where I make homemade pizza, but for the last six months, they've been cauliflower pizzas. It's a great way to get more vegetables into your diet, and if you have young children, it's a great way to sneak more vegetables into their diet. It truly is delicious! And if you are trying to lose weight or on a keto diet, this is perfect for you because it's low carb, grain free, and gluten free, and cauliflower has just 25 calories per cup and 3 grams of fiber, so you can eat a lot of it without worry about gaining weight! It's very satisfying and super healthy for you, which I discuss in my video as well. I hope you will give it a try; let me know in the comments below the video. xoLinda -YouTips4U

Will Vitamin E Help Lower My Cholesterol

Experts recommend getting vitamin E from foods rather than supplements since there is no conclusive evidence that supplements lower cholesterol or reduce the risk of heart attack.  Good food sources of vitamin E include vegetable oils, eggs, wheat germ, green leafy vegetables, dried beans, nuts, fish, and meat. If you're taking vitamin E supplements, be aware that the American Heart Association has reported that taking 400 IU or more of Vitamin E can increase the risk of death and should be avoided. It's always best to get your vitamins and nutrition from natural foods.

10 Best Weight Loss Tips - That Really Work!

In my latest video below, I share with you ten of the absolute best weight loss diet tips that will help you lose weight and be healthier. These are not fad diet ideas, or unreasonable or unsustainable goals. These are real lifestyle and diet tips that I have practiced my entire life that really work. I know a thing or two about maintaining a healthy and fit body and lifestyle as I have been able to do that my entire life for myself and for my family. The most important thing about a diet is that it provides you with good health and protection from disease. There is always a new popular diet plan, or doctor-turned-YouTuber promoting the amazing benefits of one diet or another. It's always been a very lucrative field for doctors to make money in and obtain sponsorship, because people trust doctors. However, in real life and in my experience, doctors typically don't talk to patients about their diet and lifestyle choices do they? They typically don't offer natural remedies about changing diet, lifestyle, or offer herbal remedies to alleviate illnesses or conditions do they? At least not in all the years I have visited my doctors for myself or my children, and I don't know of any friends or relatives who have had that experience either. So that's why you have to be skeptical and trust your own judgment, because its very often just a big money maker for the doctors that are out there doing it. It's a chance for them to use their credentials to convince people to buy something. Not unlike what celebrities do. We are all unique, so depending on your health situation, not every diet will work for you. Always, ask yourself, what am I being asked to give up? Is this healthy for my body at the expense of my waistline. Is the person who's advice I'm taking being sponsored by an industry and that's why they're delivering this particular message about a certain diet. We all have to keep in mind that the internet has become one giant advertising and marketing platform designed to prompt you to do one thing and that is "buy something". All that being said, I personally have no one that I have to answer to so I can be completely truthful and honest about what I share with people on YouTube, and I prefer to keep it that way. My message is based on my own personal life experience which I think people appreciate. I'm someone who has devoted considerable time and effort to reading and understanding the human body, its needs, and its beautiful unique gifts. As you know,  I believe food is medicine and that the right diet can help remedy many ailments. I am also of the belief that it's always best to try the natural route of adjusting one's diet and lifestyle before taking any medications. I think it serves you better in the long run. In my latest video, I share with you ten of the best weight loss and lifestyle diet tips that anyone can easily put into effect today. They will help you not only lose weight, but keep it off, and you will also feel healthier and more energized to do the things love and need to do to maintain a health life.
