Air Drying Your Hair With Style
Are you trying to grow your hair long? Perhaps you just want your current length hair to look healthy and not dry, brittle and full of split ends. For healthier, shinier hair, it's important to limit the use of heat styling tools. Things like flat irons, straighteners, blow dryers and curling irons, can zap your hair of it's natural moisture and it's ability to retain moisture. This can lead to dry damaged hair that simply breaks off and can make growing and maintaining long hair quite a challenge, but you don't have to give up style because you want to air dry your hair. In my latest YouTube video, I show you how to embrace air drying your hair by creating an easy curly hair look using only your finger. That's right, all you need to make these easy pin curls is your own finger and some bobby pins. You will be pleasantly surprised at how beautiful you will look with curly hair and how healthy your hair will feel not having been attacked yet again by heat. You can also use the same technique to give volume and bounce to your hair if you have thin or straight hair. I have quite a few no-heat hairstyle videos for you on YouTube to make air drying your hair fun and pretty. I hope you'll watch them all. You can watch my latest curly hairstyle tutorial now to learn how to do easy curly hair with finger curls. xo Linda

Is Your Ionic Hair Dryer Causing Your Hair to Be Flat, Dry, and Limp
I was recently in the market for a second blow dryer and doing a bit of research on what to buy. I noticed that nearly every hair dryer or heat styling tool on the market today boasted using negative ions technology. Their claim is that ionic infusion technology will shorten drying time, add shine, and eliminate frizz and static. As someone who is always interested in the science behind such claims, I wanted to know if this really worked or is it just marketing, and are negative ions good for my hair. I have long hair and had been experiencing some issues with dryness and lack of volume, so I did my own research into this ionic technology and then I did a little experiment comparing an ionic hair dryer with a non-ionic hair dryer. To find out what I learned and the results of my comparison, watch my YouTube video: Is Your Hair Dry, Flat, Thin, Or Limp? It Could Be Your Ionic Hair Dryer!

Castor Oil to Heal Dry Skin - Anti-Aging Benefits Too
Well, winter is fully upon us and that means dry chapped skin. I want to recommend a wonderful natural healing product to you that I have used on my skin for many years. It's Castor Oil. Castor Oil is wonderful for your skin. It is extracted by pressing the seeds of the castor oil plant and is very rich and soothing and healing. It nourishes your skin with loads of vitamins and minerals and it is also an anti-fungal and an anti-viral so you can apply to areas of your skin that may need healing. I use it at night before bed on my hands and then I cover them with old socks to help seal in the healing and prevent the oil from rubbing off on my bedding. Castor oil heals chapped hands literally overnight and it also nourishes them while you sleep. I use it on my face as well. It's an excellent anti-aging wrinkle reducing product for your face. To learn more about the benefits of using Castor Oil and other ways to use it to heal including helping to grow hair, please watch my video on Youtube. Massage Your Scalp Daily
I have a great tip for you to achieve healthier hair - Massage your scalp daily! Scalp skin, overall, is very thick with the thickest part at the nape of the neck. Unfortunately, scalp skin does not move much on its own so it benefits greatly from stimulation. Massaging your scalp with your fingertips stimulates the flow of blood and oxygen to the bulb of your hair, which feeds it, and helps it stay healthy and grow. Very often bad scalp circulation can lead to thinning hair.
Before you go to sleep every night, take about 1-2 minutes to massage your scalp. Start at the base of you skull and gently rub upward and outward in small, circular movements with your fingertips. Never let your nails touch your scalp. Over time, your hair will thank you by being healthier and more vibrant, and it feels wonderful too! It's also a good idea to gently massage your scalp before you shampoo to loosen any debris and help wash it away.

Will Hair Grow Faster and Thicker if It's Cut Frequently?
Although getting your hair trimmed will help it to look better and fuller because you are removing the split ends where hair tends to be thinner at the bottom, it will not make your hair grow faster. Hair is actually dead protein. The root is where growth takes place and it is not aware of what goes on down at the end of the hair. Tiny blood vessels at the base of every follicle feed the hair root to keep it growing. But once the hair is at the skin's surface, it is not alive anymore and has become dead skin cells. That's why it doesn't cause pain when someone cuts your hair with scissors! A healthy diet, proper rest, and regular exercise will help to keep your roots healthy and growing hair to their maximum potential. Massaging your scalp is a good way to stimulate your hair follicles to grow because it helps to increase blood flow to the follicle.

What Vitamins are Beneficial for Hair
Question: What are some good vitamins for growing hair?
YouTips4U: A good multivitamin is part of the foundation of good health and nutrition as is a healthy diet. The B vitamin complex is also very beneficial for hair growth, especially B-6, biotin, Inositol and folic acid . The B Vitamins all work together so it's best to take a supplement that contains all of them. That is why a daily multivitamin is so beneficial and probably all you need. Also, be sure to get enough protein and amino acids in your diet with eggs, meat, fish, chicken, nuts, beans, dairy products, etc. and vegetable which are rich in B vitamins as well.

Question: What if your hair is shoulder length and you can't exactly reach the split ends as easily?
YouTips4U: This really is targeted for long hair as a way to avoid trimming it too often in order to gain length. You're right, it is hard to do on shorter hair. For now, you should concentrate on maintaining healthy ends by using the right shampoo and conditioner for your hair type and being careful not to damage it with harsh styling. As it grows past your shoulders you can use my split ends trimming method to help it growing longer. Hope that helps :) :)

Stop Split Ends and Grow Your Hair Longer
Please check out my videos on YouTube to learn many helpful tips on hair, skin, nails, health, fitness, and many more topics of interest.
In my Stop Split Ends and Grow Your Hair Longer video on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dqvh0wVgIw&feature=channel_page
I show you how you can grow your hair longer simply by stretching the time between salon trims using a simple technique of trimming off your split ends with a small scissor. Growing your hair long takes commitment as does anything worth achieving in life; that's why it is so desirable. There really is no magic potion to having long hair. You must take care of your body by providing it with good nutrition through a balanced diet, exercise, and enough rest in order for your cells to repair and regenerate so that you can obtain the maximum growth potential of your hair each month. Hair is nourished from the inside. A diet rich in protein and B vitamins is extremely beneficial and a daily multivitamin is added insurance. Please remember that growing long, healthy, strong hair takes time, patience, and care. It's important to use the right shampoo for your hair type (i.e. oily, normal, dry, color-treated, etc.) and a very good conditioner to help retain moisture and repair split ends. You don't have to spend a lot of money on salon products. You can find one that you like in your favorite drugstore. You should always use a leave-in conditioner before styling after you have shampooed and conditioned your hair.
Hair grows approximately 1/2 per month. If you decide to commit to growing your hair, start fresh with a good trim to remove dead dry ends and then take special care from that point on not to create anymore damage, dryness, or split ends. Try to stretch the time between trims as I have spoken about in the above video by trimming them with a small scissor periodically. When you do go for a trim, be sure to communicate to your hairdresser that you are committed to growing your hair long and that she please use special care to trim only a dusting to 1/2 to remove unwanted ends that way you can hold on to your precious new growth. You do the math on how much to remove based on how many months of growth you've had. Be sure not to take off as much as or more that you grew; but be sure to remove less. Only trim when necessary. I like to wait at least 3 months between trims and then remove 1/4 inch.
It is a journey worth taking so please don't give up. Allow yourself at least 2 years of patience, determination, and commitment and you will be rewarded with beautiful long hair.
