What You Water Grows

One of the benefits of getting older, and yes there are benefits, is that you gain wisdom and perspective about life. We are always learning. We never stop. Over the years, we learn what works for us and what doesn't, so that we may be able to correct and perfect our lives as we go along. One of the things that stands out to me as I reflect on life is how much we have the power to shape our lives. Wherever I look, at friends, family members, work colleagues,  or my own life, I have realized that where we place our efforts and time is indicative of the results we have. Where we fail to pay attention or invest our time, is where we will have the most struggles.  Sit and think for a moment about your life and the things that are going on with you right now. Relationships, health, work, life. Are there areas of your life that you have struggles in, or great success and pride in? Well that didn't just happen by chance.  So much is written about the law of attraction, about your ability to attract into your life the things that you want, by simply deciding to want them. That decision usually leads to certain actions and those actions tell the universe that you are receptive. In your garden of life, remember, where you water, grows, and where you neglect, withers.  What are you watering? I have a a work colleague who's son is currently watering a life of heavy drinking and partying and as a result,  he's overweight, on blood pressure medication, and not looking for a much needed job. He is choosing to water the weeds of life and he is attracting similar people. Where are you devoting your resources because that is what is growing. If you are watering weeds and not flowers, you will grow weeds. Takes some time to reflect and if you desire change, you must change what you are giving your attention to.

Your Choice - Taking Responsibility For Your Health

This week another of my good friends told me that they had a physical and the doctor recommended a colonoscopy. My friend is over 50 and has no hereditary risk factors for colon cancer. Being a YouTips4U subscriber, he had learned all about the risks of having a colonoscopy in my video entitled: Colonoscopy: What You Need To Know Risks and Side Effects and so he was not comfortable with having such an invasive test for a screening test. He knew he had other options and one of them is Cologuard. Cologuard is the latest technology in colon cancer screening and it is non-invasive and accurate. In my video: Cologuard Colon Cancer Screening Test | My Review and Experience, I share everything you need to know about this simple and effective non-invasive test for detecting cancer and precancer that uses advanced DNA technology to screen your stool sample for colon cancer and precancer and it also screens for blood in the stool. After watching that video and learning of my experience with using Cologuard, my friend decided that this was the test he wanted and asked the doctor about having Cologuard instead of a colonoscopy. Unfortunately, as happens all too often, the doctor told him a bunch of half truths about Cologuard, like it's not covered by insurance, and that colonoscopy is the gold standard, and sent my friend on his way. He did not inform my friend that according to the United States Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) he has other options for screening for colon cancer other than a colonoscopy that are just as effective at detecting colon cancer, each with their own positives and negatives which I discuss in my in-depth video entitled: Colon Cancer Screening: What You Need To Know About Colon Health, Colonoscopy, Cologuard | My Choice. My friend was pretty amazed at the lack of medical support for his desired choice which was Cologuard. When he got home he decided to be proactive about his healthcare and call Cologuard's 24-hour 800 number for information on how to go about ordering the test. They were extremely helpful and informative and told him the test would be 100% covered by his medical insurance just like a colonoscopy would be. They helped him fill out the necessary request form to give to his doctor and told him that once they received it the signed request form, they would ship the test to his home. Your doctor must order the Cologuard test for you and it gets shipped directly to your home.

If you encounter this very common situation with your healthcare provider, it may be necessary for you to be proactive if you wish to avoid colonoscopy and choose Cologuard as your screening method. As I explained in my video below, doctors have tremendous financial incentive to recommend colonoscopy and they are reluctant to recommend other screening methods because at a cost of approximately $3,000 per colonoscopy it's a very profitable business and they simply do not profit when you choose Cologuard.  According to my research which you will learn about in my video below, a colonoscopy is not an effective screening test for the masses. It is fraught with risk to the patient and misses a lot of cancers and precancers. The test is only as good as the doctor who is visualizing your colon. Cologuard screens your entire colon and is the latest technology that detects both blood and DNA in your stool to look for cancers and precancers and has a 94% accuracy rate. It's simple and non-invasive! Kudos to my friend for being proactive about his health and selecting a test that was right for him. Don't miss my in-depth video below to learn everything you need to know about colon cancer and colon cancer screening tests. You will learn so much about this incredibly vital area of the human body. An area that must be protected for you to be healthy.

How To Heal Your Skin From Retin-A

Many women are now using the prescription acne medication Retin-A, or tretinoin, as an anti-aging treatment for the skin in an effort to ward off aging, reduce wrinkles, and fade hyperpigmentation and dark spots. However, as I have outlined in my video below, which is based on my own personal research from available public sources, Retin-A does little to mitigate wrinkles and prevent aging, and unfortunately, it can be extremely irritating to the skin. Many women have reported that they have experienced severe side effects like peeling, dryness, redness, soreness, thinning skin, and even problems with their meibomian glands in their eyes. Women have also reported that they look older from using it, not younger! Retin-A/tretinoin is a potent pharmeceutical drug, it is not a beauty product. It alters the differentiation process of cell renewal in the skin and is FDA approved for the treatment of severe acne. I explain all this and more in my video below. Based on my research and personal opinion which I shared with you in my video entitled Retin-A: Know The Risks and Side Effects,

I do not feel that Retin-A should be used for anti-aging of the skin. I believe it can actually age the skin because it disrupts and dries out your skin's essential layer and eventually thins it. If you are using Retin-A and suffering with its side effects, you may want to consider discontinuing using it and allow your skin to try to heal and restore itself. You can help that healing process with careful application of a healing occlusive like safflower oil. In my recent video below, entitled Amazing Benefits of Safflower Oil For Anti-Aging, I discuss the incredible healing power of safflower oil for the skin and its potent anti-aging benefits. If you are suffering from problematic side effects caused by Retin-A or tretinoin, or any other skin problem, you may want to give safflower oil a try to help heal and fortify your skin. You will learn so much about the amazing benefits of this natural beauty product for your skin and body in my video below. Lighten Your Skin Naturally With Safflower Oil

In my recent YouTube video below, I discuss the amazing benefits of safflower oil for anti-aging of the skin. One of the many benefits of using safflower oil on your skin is that it can help fade hyperpigmentation and dark spots and lighten your skin. It does this by blocking the activity of the enzyme tyrosinase which is responsible for the melanin production in your skin. Melanin is what gives your skin pigment and reacts to UV exposure. Safflower oil has been shown to work as well as Arbutin for lightening the skin. So if you are looking for a natural alternative to the skin lightening products that contain harmful chemicals, like hydroquinone, then you absolutely must give safflower oil a try. Learn all about this amazing natural beauty product for your skin and body in my video below. Please share this video and remember to subscribe to my YouTube Channel for more helpful beauty tips!
