The Antidote To Despair

My heart breaks for those that are struggling right now and my prayers go out to all that are suffering in the terrible fires in California. I pray for all of you🙏 It seems each day we wake up there is another bit of shocking or upsetting news to darken our day and our mood. So many of us are struggling right now and overwhelmed by the shear force of the constant tragedy that we hear. It leaves us feeling powerless and full of despair. We all seem to be asking the same question: Will things ever be normal again? There is a deep conflict going on in humanity. It's as though dark forces have cast a spell upon society, and just like in a fairy tale story, everyone morphed overnight, but we must find a way to survive this and go on.  If there is one antidote, one magic wand that we can wave to break the spell of despair, it is to be grateful. The moment we are thankful for what we have, the weight begins to lift from our shoulders and the dark powers begin to lose their hold on us. No matter what anyone tries to take from you, they cannot take your soul, not unless you give it to them. Now more than ever, it is important to practice gratitude. Say the things you are grateful for out loud every chance you get. Spend time doing things you love. Spend time with people you love. Spend time in nature. Exercise. Watch a funny movie. Alter your focus away from negativity. When you can find things in your life to be positive about, the darkness can no longer touch you. You remain in the light of hope, faith, and love. Before you know it, solutions begin to present themselves and you realize that you do have control over your life and the power to change your circumstances. Start now by eliminating anything and anyone from your life that feeds you negativity. Unfollow any social media accounts that argue or present fearful scenarios, they only serve to spread despair. Turn off the television and read a good book instead, stop going on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Once you have rid your life of the constant stream of negativity, stand guard at the door of your mind and only let in what brings you happiness, love, and joy, and you will see a huge transformation in how you feel. I always recommend starting and ending each day being thankful. It can literally change your life.❤️

It's the things we do every day that make the most difference in how we look and age. When it comes to beauty, it's our habits that will define how well we age, more than our genetics. That's why it's so important to adopt good beauty habits that you stick with over time. The simpler they are, the better. This Too Shall Pass - Be Ready For Opportunity!

For so many people, this year has proven to be very difficult and challenging. Our hearts are sad and our motivation has suffered a tremendous setback. There is so much negativity, uncertainty, and feelings of hopelessness all around us, and it’s very easy to get swept up into feelings of anger, anxiety, sadness, and depression for these are the feelings that humans experience with loss of freedom, loss of choice, isolation, and fear. The important questions is, what can we do?  Well….believe it or not, the remedy begins within you! That’s where all change begins, for you are the one that has control and influence over your own life. Rather than spending time focusing on the negative situations all around you, shift your focus on what you do have and what you can enjoy right now, in this moment, and build from there. Spend time thinking about the freedoms you experience every day, the people and things in your life that make a difference and really matter to you. Write them down. Make a list and refer to it when thoughts of negativity begin to surface. Start a journey today towards finding your sense of hope and faith again and you will find your inspiration. You may have to dig deep right now to find your strength, but you will find it, of this I am sure, and when you do, grab it and pull it up like a rope from the depths of your soul, then set it free and allow it to blaze a glorious path for your future. Continue to look forward and remind yourself every day that "this too shall pass." Say those words to yourself outlaid, write them down, pin them where you can see them throughout the day. Right now we are in the worst of storms, but we must remember that out of the rubble of disaster often rises the greatest of opportunities. So be ready, because your day is coming and things will be better than they were before. You will be stronger and smarter and more resilient than you were before. Let those words and thoughts be the light that guides you out of the darkness and despair to be restored once again. I believe we are all being tested right now. We are being challenged to recognize what is sacred to us and what we are willing to fight for. Perhaps we needed a reminder of its value, a warning to pay attention so we don’t lose it. Sometimes in life wake-up calls can be loud and shrill and unpleasant, but very very necessary. It’s time to take action in your life, to put plans into effect to protect your future, and it starts right here, right now, with you pledging to yourself that you will no longer dwell in the house of sadness, negativity, despair, and frustration, but instead you will rise up, dust yourself off, and unleash your abounding spirit. Go forth and research, study, learn, understand, and grow. Do what it takes to identify opportunities to make changes, fix problems, and create your new and exciting destiny. 💖

How To Look Beautiful With No Makeup

I think one of the most positive things that has come out of my experience with having to be in lockdown and working from home is that I have come to embrace not wearing makeup. At first I think many of us loved not having to get ready every morning and put makeup on and do our hair etc. It was a welcomed respite from the normal routine and a chance to give our skin a bit of a rest. However, as the weeks wained on and we remained socially isolated and still working from home, many of my friends started telling me they felt like they were in a rut and have let themselves go. They were sick of looking at themselves looking like they just rolled out of bed and had no drive to change that. I totally understood how they felt and we laughed about it on FaceTime, but then something interesting happened, after a while we kinda got used to seeing ourselves that way and we no longer felt that just because we had no makeup on, we were in a rut or in some kind of hiding. It was kind of a flash back to middle school before you ever wore makeup. We simply got used to seeing ourselves without makeup, and instead of feeling like we were in a rut, we started feeling free! We weren't afraid to be seen without our "face on"as they say. This transformation was part of our evolution of self confidence. In fact, studies have shown that the more insecure a woman is, the more makeup she puts on, but can the actual act of wearing makeup cause you to develop an insecurity that you never had? The answer is yes. There are thousands upon thousands of makeup videos on YouTube showing you products that you think you need in order to look beautiful. They convince you that you need to look a certain way or buy a certain product to look and feel beautiful and confident, but the truth is, you are already beautiful and you always were. You were just covering it up for so long that you forgot what your natural beauty looked like!

Well, over these past months, I have had the pleasure of regaining my positive relationship with my natural beauty; the beauty I was born with. Now when I want to enhance my natural beauty, I do it very selectively, just like a middle-school-aged girl putting on lip gloss for the first time, or trying a little blush on her cheeks. I'm selective, because I don't want to hide my newly born-again natural beauty that I have just become friends with again after all these years. This amazing realization led me to do this video, How To Look Beautiful With No Makeup, to help inspire you to discover your natural beauty again and to show you that you can feel beautiful, sexy, and confident with a no makeup look. There are a few essentials that you should incorporate everyday to keep your skin healthy and supple and help prevent aging which I discuss in the video, but the rest is just personal preference.  I also share with you some great anti-aging tips and tricks that I think you will find helpful to promote beautiful smooth skin, but the important thing to always remember is that beauty comes from inside, self confidence comes from inside and this experience with being in lockdown may just have birthed a whole new beauty trend. A trend where women look within and allow their beauty to radiate out rather than be painted on.  True beauty is in the way you treat others and the world. It is in the kindness and sincerity that you share with others and in the compassion you have for yourself. So please watch my video, How To Look Beautiful With No Makeup and then challenge yourself to develop a better relationship with your looks, to develop your self confidence without wearing makeup. Try to practice acting the same way without makeup that you would when you are wearing full makeup. Before you know it, you will feel your inner butterfly emerging from her cocoon. It's a wonderful exercise in personal growth. Too many women look in the mirror and don't like what they see. How did they get there? Children don't know anything about looks, they are just themselves. It's society that starts to dictate and judge what is and isn't beautiful. Don't fall into that trap. All things created under God are beautiful and you are one of them. You are as beautiful as a spring flow or a soaring eagle. You just need to see it.

There's also one additional bonus to not wearing makeup, or minimal makeup, and that is the money you will save! I have not bought one single makeup product this year and I don't feel any need or want to. When I watch YouTube videos now of women piling on makeup, I think they look completely overdone. I think to myself how much nicer they would look with a much lighter hand and soft natural glow.
