Quick Styles for Back to School Hair Styling

hi,, do you have some tips/videos on how to style your hair when going to school... because i have trouble on how to style my long hair when I'm going to school.
thanks in advance...

YouTips4U: Hi, I know time can be hard to come by when you are trying to get to school. The best thing to do is to wash and condition and style your hair the night before so you don't have so much to do with it in the morning before school. In the morning, brush it out gently and if you have unwanted waves, etc. dampen it a bit and restyle it using your blow dryer or flat iron, whichever you use. This will save time and your hair will come out just as nice. You may have to wet sections of your hair, but at least you don't have all the shampooing, etc. to do.

Another great thing you can do with really long hair is to wear it wavy. After you wash your hair the night before, or if you are not washing it that night simply dampen it; then make two braids, one on each side. Sleep with your hair braided and it will dry over night. When you let the braids out in the morning, you will have beautiful wavy hair! Just brush out and go.

Hope that helps :o)

Highlighting Your Hair

I'm 17 and I've never straightend ma hair cuz i don't wanna damage my hair. Well now i want highlights. I'm just scared cuz i don't want to damage my hair so I'm gonna ask my hair stylist to give me semi-permanent highlights
but I'm still scared. So my question 2 u is: how much is it going to damage my hair :(
i have dark brown, curly hair.
hope u can help

YouTips4U: Hi, putting some highlights into you hair is such a great way to brighten it up; they add depth and dimension to your hair. You don't have to do a lot of them. A few placed nicely around your face can be all you need. They can be drying to your hair, so you just make sure to condition properly. Be sure to find a good hairdresser - that's the key to good highlights. The best thing to do is ask someone you come across whose hair you like and ask her where she gets here hair done and who does it. Then go to that place and see that particular colorist/stylist.

How Do I Get More Defined Abs

Hi, you have some really good videos...I use your workout vids because I'm trying to lose the layer of fat around my stomach so my abs can show!!! Just wondering, what are some good ways to lose about 1inch of fat covering the abs. I workout but sometimes I get discouraged because I'm not seeing results as fast as I would like to...

Youtips4U: Hi, please don't get discouraged. It really does take time, but I promise you if you stick with it, you will see the results you are hoping for. I'm so glad my videos have been helpful.

To lose that tummy padding, just keep doing your cardio. That's how you burn the calories and the excess fat so you can uncover those strong abs you've been working on. As the weight comes off, the underlying muscle tissue becomes much more visible.

You will get there - you know I believe hard work pays off, and it really does :o)

Highlighting Your Hair

I live in a small small town in Georgia with only about 1,000 people in it. We don't have expensive salons here, so the only place to really go would be Kmart or Walmart. We went to Kmart the other week and we decided to splurge and visit the hair supplies section and I noticed some of the dye came with a clear thing that looks similar to a hair straightener. You would use it like a hair straightener only it would be for color. Do you think that I would have to use foil for that?

YouTips4U: Hi, I do know some of the highlighting kits come with applicators that allow you to just brush on the color. You can do this, but I must caution you that the hair that gets the highlight mixture applied to it can often touch the other hairs that you don't want highlighted, and because those other hairs don't get a lot of product on them, but only touched by it, the result can be underprocessed hair that appears orange or gets partially highlighted with a stripe. I would always recommend that people use foils to highlight because you can easily separate the hair that has product applied to it from the hair that is to remain natural. If you cannot find foils, you can always buy regular aluminum foil, store brand is better than Reynolds Wrap because it is sometimes thinner, and just cut the foils to size that you can use. Good Luck :o)

How to Manage Grays with Highlighting

Hi, I have a question.
I'm in my early thirties and I have some gray hair just on the top of my head. I tried to highlight it just a tone lighter, the result was good but it's quite impossible to grab all the grays, so some remains. What would you suggest: to continue highlighting my hair or to try some semi-permanent color?(I'd prefer not to die all my hair, because I'm afraid to ruin it).
Thanks in advance

YouTips4U: Hi, unfortunately, you cannot highlight gray hair because it has no pigment to lift. What you can do is highlight the surrounding hair and it will just blend in with the gray and you won't notice it until the highlights start growing out and then you'll have to do it again. You can do this until you have so much gray that you cannot blend it anymore and then you can use a semi-permanent or permanent hair color application to your entire head of hair. I would keep highlighting as long as you can! The next step would be a semi-permanent hair color. If you do decide to use a semi-permanent color, don't worry because they wash out in about 28 days and many are quite gentle to your hair. Clairol Natural Instincts is a good one. Be careful though about using a semi-permanent color over highlights. I would call Clairol first (there's an 800 # on the box) and ask if it's o.k., or speak to a colorist at a salon before you place any type of color on highlighted hair. Years later when the grays become very heavy you can then switch to a permanent hair color.

Properly Shampoo and Condition Your Hair

Is it okay to use a shampoo and conditioner in the same hand, putting it on at the same time like a 2 in 1 with cold water becauses i like it and it's usually 103 degrees in Arizona and i live there.

YouTips4U: I always prefer using the shampoo first to clean your hair and then using a conditioner to condition it. I think it's best because you diminish the ability of the shampoo to clean and the conditioner to condition when you mix them. Also, it's not always preferable to condition your whole head. Conditioner is best apply to your hair from the ears down to avoid build up on your scalp. It's best shampoo with warm water because it distributes and lathers better that with cold water. It's also beneficial to rinse your conditioner off with warm water because it leaves hair softer and untangles it. You can finish with a cold water rinse to close the cuticle when you're done.

Hightlighting Your Hair

Well I don't know if you remember me, hehe you probably get tons of fans, oh, and I want to say again, I love your videos on Youtube! :)

Anyway, well it's been a few months since I got my highlights. I have long Asian hair and right now I have tons of a caramel colored streaks/highlights. So now I'm thinking of getting just a few bolder auburn colored highlights in the front. I have a circle-ish oval-ish head shape if that helps. So I was just wondering if you happen to have any tips or suggestion for me. :)

YouTips4U: It's nice to hear from you again! I'm not sure if the auburn highlight will go with the caramel colored streaks already in your hair. In my opinion, it may be too many colors, unless you are going for a more punk type look. I would probably stick to colors in the same family.

Hi, oh, okay, thanks! Also, do you think a lighter caramel/brown or dark blond would be okay, because I wanted a few bold streaks in the front to frame my face more. Or, whatever color would be best to help frame my face.

YouTips4U: Yes, that should work. You can always go lighter and brighter in the same color family. It'll brighten up your face. That's what I do. Good luck!

15 Year Old Male and Want to Bulk Up My Legs

I am a 15 yr. old male and i want to work out my thighs, i want to use your videos for working out and what is the fastest way to gain about 15-20 pounds of muscle about how long do u think it will take? which workout do u recomend?

YouTips4U: I recommend squats and lunges with weights for you if you want to strengthen your leg muscles, but you must be careful not to use too much weight - never max out. You are still growing and you don't want to damage your growth plates. At your age it is hard to put on a lot of muscle because you are still growing and your body is putting forth it's energy to grow taller. Once you have reach your maximum height, it will be easier for you to sculpt your body. Give yourself another 2-3 years, then you can add more heavily defined muscle.
