Curry in Your Diet Fights Cancer

Turmeric, a main ingredient of curry, has been used liberally in Indian cooking, for centuries. Its yellow pigment called curcumin helps ward off many diseases including cancer. Recent studies have shown that curcumin inhibits the growth of many cancers including prostate cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer, and may even prevent and slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease by removing amyloyd plaque buildup in the brain. It is very easy to get this wonderful healing spice into your diet and you don't have to be talented in the preparation of indian dishes. I simply keep a container of Turmeric and Curry Powder in my cupboard which you can buy in any spice section of the supermarket. I sprinkle it on many dishes to add lots of flavor and zest. I love it on baked chicken, eggs, and ground turkey, and I cook it into rice dishes and pasta dishes as well as sprinkle it on potates. Another super easy way to add it to your diet is to sprinkle some into your soups. If you are pregnant, please consult your doctor before adding Turmeric to your diet as it can be a uterine stimulant. Also, Turmeric should not be used by people with gallstones or bile obstruction.

Wonderful and Natural Acne/Pimple Cure

I have a wonderful tip for you on how you can help heal your acne. This treatment targets your entire face all at once, not just individual pimples and it's called Steaming. I recently uploading a video on YouTube on herbal steam inhalation to help remedy coughs, colds, and chest congestion. Inhaling the steam that rises off of a pot of boiling water containing tea bags (eucalyptus, chamomile, and ginkgo biloba) helps heal inflamed lung tissue, thin mucus, and soothe nasal passages, but it also does something else that's absolutely wonderful: it gives you the smoothest, most glowing healthy skin. If you are doing this treatment solely for your skin, you may use just the chamomile tea bag in the pot of boiling water. Chamomile has antibacterial and antiviral properties and when soaked into the skin through hot steam, helps to open and unclog pores and heal acne. The results are amazing! You do have to do it consistently; I would recommend at least once per day for best results. After as little as three days you will see improvement in your acne. You will see improvements to you skin quality almost immediately, and it feels so wonderful and relaxing. For information on how to do this wonderful natural skin and acne treatment, please see my video on YouTube. Here is the link for you: Herbal Steam Remedy Treatment for Coughs, Colds, Chest Congestion, ACNE/PIMPLES & Glowing Skin

I really hope you will make this a regular part of your life. You will love the effects on your skin. I promise!

How to Make Your Hair Color Last Longer - Tips for Pool, Sun, and Surf

Hi YouTips4U, what can I do to make my hair color last longer. It's so expensive to keep up and I feel it fades too quickly for me.

YouTips4U Ans. I know how frustrating that can be with certain hair colors. What you want to do is avoid prolonged sun exposure as that is the number one culprit of fading hair color. If you must be in the sun for an extended period of time, be sure you wear a hat and spray your hair with a UV block conditioner mixed with a little water. Also, you want to limit your hair's exposure to chlorinated pool water, this is another culprit in fading hair color. If you are a swimmer and being exposed to chlorinated pool water is a frequent occurrence, be very diligent about protecting your hair before you dive in. I recommend that you first wet your hair down with regular tap water and then apply either a hair oil like jojoba oil or olive oil, or use a conditioner. By wetting your hair down with regular tap water, you prevent your hair from absorbing the chlorine water because it has already absorbed the fresh water. Coating it with olive or jojoba oil will help block out the chlorinated water because oil repels water. It's also a wonderful way to condition your hair while you exercise. Lastly and also of great importance is "wear a swim cap" also called a bathing cap. Simply twist your hair into a bun and stuff it all under the cap. This will protect your hair from freely flowing through all the chlorinated water. When you come out of the pool rinse your hair well, shampoo and condition as usual.

Finally, to protect your hair color from fading, you want to use a shampoo for color-treated hair. These shampoos are specially formulated and gentle and will have the right combination of ingredients to make your color last. I highly recommend them. Please do avoid overwashing your hair; shampooing two to three times a week is sufficient. The more you shampoo, the more you can fade you color.

Great Solutions for Your Problem Area - Flabby Upper Arms

Spring and summer are upon us and that means we show more skin. Unfortunately, if you have excess fat and lack of muscle tone in your upper arms, they can be flabby and jiggly and you may want to try to minimize that as best you can while you work on toning them up with resistance training. Please see my video on weight lifting to tone your arms at home. Here is the link to my YouTube video: Weight Lifting/Training Exercises to Tone Arms, Workout Biceps, Triceps, Chest & Shoulder Muscles

Please also see my video on push ups. These are wonderful for your whole upper body and should be done regularly. Here is the YouTube link to that video: Top-Rated Upper Body Exercise, PUSH UPS, Workout & Build Chest, Arms, Abs, Core Muscles with PUSHUPS

In the mean time how do we dress to hide those flabby upper arms. I have a few do's and don'ts.

1. Avoid tank tops and capped sleeves and anything skintight around your upper arm because that will only bring attention to the loose flesh. Instead, select loose fitting sleeves that stop about three inches above your elbow.

2. Going out for a special occasion and want to wear something sexy? Don't fret, wearing off-the-shoulder tops with longer sleeves will help to accentuate your neck and bust and take attention away from your arms. You can buy dresses or tops with this look and it is so elegant, and don't forget silky, flowing fabrics offer a beautiful soft effect.

So don't hide your arms in long sleeves during the hot summer, simply select tops and blouses that don't accentuate your upper arms, but draw attention elsewhere. And don't forget those pushups!

Great Solutions to Appear Thinner in Your Problem Areas - Big Butt

One of the most common complaints from women is that they are unhappy with the size of their butt. Sometimes no matter how much exercise we do, our butts still need a little camouflaging. A tight, toned bottom is always our ultimate goal, but for butts that are still working toward that goal, there are many ways to hide it a bit while it is still in metamorphosis.

1. You want to avoid tucking in your shirts. Not only does it put more volume in the way of fabric into that area, but drawing in your waist accentuates your butt. Also avoid skimpy tops as they will make your bottom half look bigger.

2. You want to avoid cropped tops and jackets and jeans with detailing on the back. Also avoid leggings or pants with very skinny legs.

3. Avoid covering a skirt with a sweater; it makes you look bigger in the bottom area.

4. It's best to wear darker bottoms rather than brighter colors so your eye won't be drawn to the bright bottom.

5. Fully cut pants work best as do sheath dresses, and long blazers.

6. You want to draw attention upward with larger earrings, and bright colorful scarves as well as bright tops.

Keep exercising and maintain a healthy diet. Strengthening your gluteus maximus muscles will help to shape and tone your butt and make it more shapely. You need a consistent exercise routine of cardio and resistance training to achieve your results. It can take time, but in the mean time you have my helpful clothing tips. One day the butterfly will emerge from the cocoon and show off its bright beautiful colors!

Great Solutions to Appear Thinner in Your Problem Areas - Tick Waistline and Tummy Pouch

It takes work to achieve a flat tummy and small waistline, so exercise is key. You need a combination of cardio exercise to burn excess fat and calories as well as toning and resistance exercises like crunches/sit ups. There are many styles you can wear to compliment a full figure. Colorful boxy jackets or double-breasted styles that fall just below your hips are very flattering. It's best to stay away from clingy knits. The best fabric choices are lighter, thinner materials that fall elegantly and thus hide the mid-section; fabrics like rayon and silk. Here are some additional do's and don'ts:

1. Choose dresses with empire waists; they draw attention up and away from the waist. Shirtdresses are also a good choice to camouflage a thick middle.

2. Select any dress, sweater, or top with a "V" neckline. The deeper the "V" the better. You want to create vertical lines for length and slimming effect.

3. Tailored pants and narrow legs are a good choice. Baggy paints are a no no.

4. Thin belts are best. Wide ones draw too much attention to your waistline.

5. You want to avoid wearing gathered or pleated skirts, horizontal stripes, tight tops, and jackets belted at the waist. All of these can draw your eye right to or enhance a larger midsection.

Great Solutions to Appear Thinner in Your Problem Areas - Thighs

Depending on our body shape, we all have areas of our bodies that are our trouble spots. No matter what your weight or height, women of all sizes need help in camouflaging certain spots. I have some tips for you on how you can accentuate the positive while taking attention away from the negative, simply by altering your clothing. Just wearing black is not the answer, so please check back daily as I will be covering a different area of the body each day: thick waistline or tummy pouch, big thighs, big butt, wide hips, flabby upper arms, small breasts.

Today we'll discuss some tips on how to dress to deal with big thighs. This is a problem area for so many women, so if you are one of them, you're not alone. Whether they are heavy or simply muscular from years of exercise, or you have a genetic predisposition to that area of your body being larger, I have a few tricks to streamline those thighs.

1. To make your legs look longer and leaner, wear at least a two-inch heal; they do wonders for elongating your legs and help to accentuate the muscles in your calf which helps your legs look better.

2. When you choose a bathing suit, opt for one that is high-cut at the thigh because that creates an illusion of longer, leaner thighs. Darker colors are preferred for maximum slimming effect.

4. Buying jeans can be a challenge because many styles have legs that tend to be skin tight. Opt for more of a classic fit rather than a straight fit with a flare at the bottom. Also, no side pockets; they tend to accentuate the hips. Best to buy jeans with flat, front pockets. Do not buy them too tight it's just not flattering.

5. Making your shoulders look subtly wider can create the illusion of the balanced figure. Softly-padded shoulders can do this nicely as can boat-neck tops.

5. Avoid bright-colored bottoms because the eye will focus there first. Best to select a light or bright top and darker bottom. You also want to avoid horizontal lines on your tops because they are widening to your figure.

6. Avoid clingy knits like sweater dresses.

7. Avoid tight tops that emphasize the fact that your hips are wider than your shoulders. Sometimes this is a matter of the style of the top; so try it on and decide.

Paying attention to balance is really the trick. Take a photo of yourself for a before and after test. In the first photo you should wear something wrong for your figure, like a horizontal striped top and light pants. Then implement the better choice (e.g. solid boat-neck top and darker jeans) for your after photo and see how you look. With a little practice, you can become an expert at enhancing your figure.
