Hi Everybody, it's almost time to say goodbye to 2011. I hope it was a good one for you. Now it's time to look ahead and focus on 2012. This is the perfect time to make a pact with yourself to exercise more. I have uploaded many exercise videos to help motivate you to make exercise a regular part of your life. So, how about starting tomorrow, January 1, 2012, you do just 10 minutes of high-impact cardio exercise three times a week. I have uploaded on YouTube two terrific 10-minute cardio workouts. If you are new to aerobic exercise, that's great, you may need to modify the movements. Remember not to just stop if you feel winded, you must keep moving a bit until your heart rate comes back down to normal. You will love the new-found energy that exercise brings you. Also, research indicates that just 10 minutes of high-impact exercise can boost a women's bone strength significantly.
Happy New Year and I'll see you on YouTube,

Should You Wash Pre-Washed Lettuce
A YouTube viewer recently wrote asking if she needs to wash the salad that she buys in a bag that has already been pre washed. The answer is positively yes! Although the salad has been pre washed, that does not mean it is free from contaminants that can make you very ill. You may remember about the spinach that was being washed in a ravine near a cow farm and the water to wash the spinach contained e. coli bacterium. Many people got very sick and even died. Rule of thumb is to always wash all produce before eating, including pre washed bagged lettuces. The best way to do this is to empty the contents in a very large bowl and fill it with cool water. Swish the lettuce around very well. Then remove the lettuce and place it in a colander, drain the water and repeat this process again. Finish it off with a cold water rinse of the letter while it is in your colander. Now you can prepare your salad and know it safe and clean.

Can I Get an Infection from a Bikini Wax?
Hi YouTips4u, I was thinking of getting a bikini wax before I go on vacation, can I get an infection from it? I don't want to be uncomfortable while I'm away.
YouTips4U ans. Hi, the answer is yes. If the area isn't properly cleaned before the waxing is done it could cause you to get inflamed hair follicles which can lead to the development of an a skin infection. Be sure the aesthetician uses an antibacterial soap prior to the waxing. Then after the waxing, she should apply an anti-inflammatory cream to calm your skin. It's a good idea for you to apply an over-the-counter antibiotic cream on the area for 2 days to prevent ingrown hairs. Remember, having your hair ripped out of your follicles is traumatic for your skin and for the follicles. The quicker you can calm the skin down the better. Applying an ice pack to the area when you arrive home can be very helpful as well.
Thanks for your question. See you on YouTube,

Summer's Over - Time for a Little Trim
Now that summer is over, it's time to think about removing those dead dry and split ends that occur from swimming, fun in the sun, surf, and chlorine pool water. Several months of summer fun can really wreck havoc on your locks. You don't want to wait too long for a trim because if you have dry split ends, they can travel up the hair shaft and break further up your hair. By removing those dry split ends down by the ends of your hair, you spare the loss of length. This is important for anyone trying to grow their hair long. After your trim, pay careful attention to the health of your hair to keep your hair from getting dry and split with conditioning treatments and gentle styling; you now have a nice fresh start to continue growing your hair long. So if you have been putting off a little pampering for yourself, now is a great time to think about either visiting your salon for a trim, or you can give yourself a haircut at home and save that hard-earned cash. Please see my video on how you can cut your own here. Here is the link to my YouTube video: How to Cut Your Own Hair
I also have a YouTube video on how to trim your own bangs. Here is the link to that video: How to Cut, Trim, & Layer Your Own Bangs

Adding Almonds To Your Diet Just Got Easier and Cheaper
I everyone! I just found out that Blue Diamond is now selling extra large bags of whole Natural Almonds (unsalted) in Walmart. I am sure you will be able to find them in grocery stores, supermarkets, and other discount chains as well. The bag I bought is a whopping 19.2 oz. and is boasting 20% more free. It cost me about $6 and change - quite a wonderful find. I am a big nut lover and snack on them every day. I tried them today and they are wonderful. I don't recommend you store them in the refrigerator as it makes them too hard which can be tough on your teeth and also takes away from the flavor. The bag has a resealable zipper to help keep freshness in and air out. They are not roasted, but raw, right out of the shell. Great for snacking! They also had roasted and salted ones available, however, I usually shy away from salty foods, but if that's the only way you'll have them, then by all means buy the salted ones. Now for some great facts on why almonds are so good for you and why you should absolutely add them to your diet if you have not already.
1) They are a rich source of vitamin E, calcium, phosphorous, iron and magnesium and they also contains zinc, selenium, copper and niacin and lets not forget that they contain quite a bit of protein as well. Almonds contain more nutrients than any other nut.
2) Eating almonds regularly helps to lower your cholesterol. Not only that, but it affects the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol by increasing the level of high density lipoproteins (HDL) and reducing the level of low density lipoproteins (LDL). This is what you want!
3) They also help your heart by helping to reduce artery damaging inflammation and plaque.
4) Lastly, they provide your body with bulk fiber which helps to move your food faster through your body; this helps to prevent constipation as well. The mono-unsaturated fat contained in almonds helps to keep you full longer which is wonderful for anyone trying to maintain or lose weight. They also help to keep your insulin levels stable.
So you see why I was so excited and had to tell you all about my great find. Please remember to put almonds on your shopping list and pick up a bag next time you're out. Your body will thank you, and you will really enjoy this crunchy filling snack. Many of my YouTube viewers ask me what I like to snack on to help me stay slim and I always tell them nuts and nut butters. They stay with you and don't weigh you down if you want to exercise shortly after your snack.
Hope you enjoy!

Lipstick Colors to Make Your Lips Look Fuller
Many women notice as they age that their lips don't look as full as they used to. This is a natural occurrence with an easy solution: choosing the right lipstick color. Wearing pinks and soft coral shades of lipstick helps your lips appear fuller than wearing darker shades do. Dark shades and deep hues tend to make your lips look thinner, in fact they draw your face down and can draw attention to any lines or wrinkles that you may have. So stick to pastels and finish your lips off with a dab of pearly gloss or frosty pink lipstick in the center of your lips. It helps reflect light and enhance the fullest part of your mouth.

Is it More Fuel Efficient to Drive with the Air Conditioner on or the Windows Open?
Ever wonder whether it's more fuel efficient to drive with the air conditioner on in hot weather or drive with your windows open. While running the AC system uses fuel to circulate refrigerant and power the fans, driving with your windows open creates a drag on your car's aerodynamic ability. So which is more economical for your pocketbook? Well, studies found that at speeds below 55 mph, vehicles got the same mileage from their gasoline whether they drove with windows open and the AC off, or using the AC with windows closed. However, when driving above 55 mph, it was more economical to drive with the air conditioner on and your windows closed.

I'm Obese and I Don't Know Where to Start With Exercise
Hi YouTips4U, I'm 100 pounds overweight and I don't know what to do to start exercising. I finally made up my mind that I want to do it, but I'm so reluctant to go to a gym because everyone there is thin and fit and I feel so out of place that I can hardly do any type of exercise for too long. What do you recommend I do?
YouTips4U Ans. Hi, first I want to congratulate you for taking action. That's wonderful and it's a very important step in your new lifestyle change. Exercise is so important and you should not be missing out on it because you feel self-conscious. I do understand your feelings about going to a gym, but as a member of a gym, I do want to tell you that people will not think anything but good things about you that you are trying to get in shape. You will be surprised how supportive going to a gym can be. That being said, there is no reason to force yourself to go if you are not comfortable because you want to succeed in your new fitness plan. So go to a gym if and when you're ready. I think a great place for you start would be to go walking. It's free, so you don't have to worry about expensive gym memberships and it's a wonderful way to get in shape. You can start small and add on to your time as you get fitter. So don't wait, start today. Just get a good pair of sneakers. I recommend running sneakers for their excellent cushioning. Find a pace that is comfortable, then see if you can up it a bit to where you are breathing heavier. This will help to improve your cardio vascular system. A great way to motivate yourself is to either listen to music as you walk with your iPod, or you can listen to books that you can download. Check out Apple iTunes. It's fun if you only listen to your book when walking, so you can look forward to hearing what's going to happen next each time you go out. It will keep you looking forward to your fitness walks. You'll want to add more time to your walks because you'll get so into your book, you want to keep listening. You can lose a lot of weight and get into great shape with walking, and you can add more intense sessions later on to challenge yourself; things like interval jogging etc. So, the bottom line is you don't have to go to a gym to get in shape, just put your sneakers on and head outside. I walk in every season of the year; no matter the temperature. I love it and you will too.

Why Does My Skin Itch When I Go Jogging?
Question: Hi YouTips4u, I love your videos and helpful tips and I admire how fit you are so I was wondering if you might know the answer to my problem. I recently took up jogging to try and lose weight and get in shape, but my skin itches so badly while I'm running. It feels like tons of mosquito bites. I even thought at one point that I was getting bitten because it was daybreak when I was running, but I didn't see any bugs on me. Anyway, it's so annoying, I have to stop and scratch constantly, but then it feels like it gets worse. What could this be?
YouTips4U Ans. Hi, I totally understand your frustration with this. I, too, have experienced the same thing on occasion. I get it mostly in the summer months; not sure why. What I can tell you is that it has to do with blood flow. When you go jogging, the blood starts to flow away from your skin's surface to your larger muscles and internal organs where it's needed for the exertion. This movement of blood flow away from the skin causes your skin to become tingly and itch. When you stop doing the exercise, it goes away because the blood will resume it's regular flow again. Sometimes it goes away while exercising as your body adjusts.
I have found that wearing tight exercise pants or leggings rather than shorts really helps. It keeps your skin from moving and shaking which I think really contributes to it.

Can the New Social Media Craze of Staying Connected Stress You Out?
Constantly checking your Blackberry, iPhone, Facebook, and Twitter can become an addictive habit and can stress you out. When you're not on your devices or online, you worry that someone may be trying to contact you or that you're missing something amazing or fun. This habit can stress you out and actually take time away from doing things that involve real-life interaction with people. Have you ever tried to have a conversation with someone who keeps checking their phone for texts. They're reading their texts and replying to them while trying to listen or talk to you. Frustrating right? We've all been there. Unfortunately, people who are constantly doing this are missing out on connecting with others and this continuous multitasking interrupts attention spans and actually causes you to feel on edge. People forget how to concentrate and listen to someone. You don't have to live without your Blackberry or iPhone handheld device; simply cut back a bit. Practice going for a period of time without picking it up and checking it. Wean yourself from it a bit. You will be surprised at how free and relaxed you will feel. You will enjoy your surroundings more; notice a beautiful day; read a book; hang out with friends and really have fun listening to each other. We live in such a connected society that it is now becoming more and more precious to just disconnect and do whatever you want without having to answer to someone. So just do it! Turn off the computer! Turn off the phone! Go outside and notice the beautiful day!!!

Is a Protein Shake a Good Breakfast?
Hi, I was wondering if having a protein shake is a good breakfast rather than having food per se? Also, are all powders the same and do you use protein mixes
YouTips4u Ans. Not all protein mixes are the same. Some have more sugar and other sweeteners; some are made with whey and some with soy protein. Most protein mixes do contain a good amount of protein, but I would much rather have a breakfast of oatmeal, some fruit and nuts, and perhaps a bit of yogurt. I would rather eat foods than sip a drink. If the choice is to have a protein shake or skip breakfast altogether, then it's best to have the shake. Skipping breakfast really does start your day off on the wrong foot and leads to lack of energy and fatigue which can sometimes follow you right through your entire day. I personally don't drink protein shakes as I do get plenty of protein from my diet. You can too with a little planning. Adding things such as nuts, peanut butter, yogurt, tofu, and eggs to your diet as snacks throughout the day can increase your protein intake. Also, having meat, fish, or chicken during your main meal. If you do choose to add protein shakes to your diet, be sure you check the label and find one that has a simple recipe; not too many chemicals you don't understand.

Your Target Heart Rate - A Way to Measure How Hard You are Exercising
Not sure how hard you are working during exercise? Knowing your maximum heart rate and your target heart rate will give you a good idea. To receive all the wonderful benefits of physical activity, it's important that you pace yourself as you don't want to tire too quickly. By taking your pulse rate periodically while you are exercising, you can monitor your heart rate to see if you are exercising within 50-85 percent of your maximum heart rate. This is called the target heart rate zone. You will obtain the most benefit for your body and reduce the risk of injury when you exercise in your target heart rate zone. This can be especially helpful for anyone who is new to exercise or has come off of a period of inactivity perhaps due to illness or pregnancy. Now, you do not want to exercise above 85 percent of your maximum heart rate because doing so can increase both cardiovascular and musculoskeletal risk and does not add any extra benefit to the body. Also, I would like to note there are some medications and medical conditions that can affect your maximum heart rate, so if you are taking medicine or have a medical condition like heart disease, high blood pressure, or diabetes, always ask your doctor if your maximum heart rate and your target heart rate will be affected. If so, your doctor can prescribe the proper heart rate ranges for your exercise program.
So how do you calculate your target heart rate? Well it's very easy. First you calculate your maximum heart rate which is simply: 220 minus your age.
Example: you are 30 years old so your maximum heart rate is:
220-30= 190
Your maximum heart rate is 190.
For our example, you want to stay within 50-85% of 190 while exercising. So for our example, you want to be working between 95-162 beats per minute. This is your target heart rate for exercising at age 30.
How do you take your pulse rate? You place your three fingers (index, middle, and ring finger)at either your wrist or neck. Now, count the beats you feel while looking at the minute hand of your wrist watch (you can also use the time clock on any cardio machine. Next, count the number of beats you feel in six seconds; add a zero to that number and you have your heart rate.
The following is a chart that you can use to determine where you should fall.
Age Target Heart Rate Maximum Heart Rate
20 years: 100–170 beats per minute, 200 beats per minute
25 years: 98–166 beats per minute, 195 beats per minute
30 years: 95–162 beats per minute, 190 beats per minute
35 years: 93–157 beats per minute, 185 beats per minute
40 years: 90–153 beats per minute, 180 beats per minute
45 years: 88–149 beats per minute, 175 beats per minute
50 years: 85–145 beats per minute, 170 beats per minute
55 years: 83–140 beats per minute, 165 beats per minute
60 years: 80–136 beats per minute, 160 beats per minute
65 years: 78–132 beats per minute, 155 beats per minute
70 years: 75–128 beats per minute, 150 beats per minute
This is simply a guide for you and you should adjust according to how you feel during exercise. If you are first starting out with an exercise program, exercise in the lowest part of your target zone (50 percent) perhaps for the first few weeks or so. Then gradually increase to the middle and higher part of your target zone (65-75 percent). After six months or more of regular exercise, you may be able to exercise comfortably at up to 85 percent of your maximum heart rate. However, you don't have to exercise that hard to stay in shape. Just try to maintain some activity that elevates your heart rate every day. If you are not comfortable in the 85% range keep it lower if it helps you maintain a good pace while exercising.
There is also another gauge you can use if you don't want to take your pulse and that is the conversational test. If you can talk and walk at the same time, you are probably not working too hard. If you can sing and still maintain your level of exercise, that's also an indication that you are probably not working hard enough. However, if you get out of breath quickly, then you are probably working too hard and should slow it down. You be the judge. Do what's comfortable for you. These are just ways you can gauge your activity level and they are by no means hard and fast rules. You will still be getting the benefits of exercise if you can walk and talk to a friend or if your target heart rate is 60% of your maximum. It depends on your goal. Are you trying to lose weight or simply trying to stay in shape. The important thing is that you exercise regularly and stay active. As a society we do far too much sitting and that is not good. So get up periodically and walk around.
I hope you found this helpful!

How to Make Your Own Homemade Blackhead Removal Pore Strips
Our pores get clogged with oils and dirt and dead skin cells. That mixture gets trapped inside our pores and gets hard, often causing what looks like a black dot or blackheads. Sometimes blackheads also trap bacteria and can lead to the formation of pimples. I have a great natural solution for unclogging your pores and removing those unwanted blackheads - using a pore strip regularly on your face on the areas where you have blackheads. However, pore strips you buy in the drugstore, such as Biore, are quite expensive. I have a terrific recipe that you can make in seconds to remove blackheads and it works just as good as the drugstore brand. It uses unflavored gelatin and milk. You mix the gelatine and milk together, heat it and apply to your blackhead areas. Please see my video for step by step instructions and how it works on YouTube. Here is the link for you: Make Homemade Blackhead Removal Pore Strips -- A Natural Treatment, Prevent Acne, Unclog Facial Skin. You will love this treatment! It costs pennies for the ingredients and it really works. Not only does it remove blackheads, but it leaves your skin smooth and helps to tighten and shrink pores. You'll love the results! My Favorite Healthier Lemonade Recipe
I want to share with you my favorite summer recipe for lemonade. It's so refreshing on a hot day and it's also very good for you.
To make a big 12 oz. glass of my favorite healthier lemonade (use more of each to make a pitcher), all you need is water, one fresh lemon, and Ocean Spray Sweetened Cranberry Juice Cocktail (not the sugar free or light one).
1) Squeeze the lemon in a hand juicer. Pour the fresh lemon juice into your glass of water. This should be done to taste. Next pour Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice Cocktail into the lemon and water mixture to sweeten to taste.
DELICIOUS!
This drink is a wonderful source of vitamin C and antioxidants. Also, the cranberry juice helps to flush bacteria out of the body including those that cause urinary tract infections.
You may also want to try adding cranberry juice to sweeten your tea. I love making iced green tea in the summer and I add cranberry juice to taste to sweeten it and lemon as well.
I hope you enjoy these simple recipes.

Remember: Tanning Beds Do Cause Skin Cancer
It is prom time in many high schools and I want to remind those that think it's safe to visit a tanning salon for this special event that IT IS NOT SAFE. Tanning beds have been shown to cause cancer. Skin cancer is dramatically on the rise in the U.S. and people are developing it younger and younger. Many teenagers think that it's o.k. in moderation. It's not. Sun damage caused by exposure to UV rays is cumulative. Your body does not forget how many times you visited the tanning salon although you may. Continued UV exposure can cause cell mutations that can lead to skin cancer. Skin cancer is an awful disease and can be life threatening. Don't take chances. I know people with skin cancer; it's not something to take lightly. It usually comes out years later leaving you full of regret that you weren't careful enough when you were younger. There is no medical reason to use a tanning bed. So if your friends tell you that they are doing it to boost vitamin D or to ease depression, these are not reasons to use a tanning bed. Think of a tanning bed as you would cigarette smoking. It's unhealthy for you and causes cancer.
Need a sun tan quickly for a special occasion, try sunless tanning. There are many great ones on the market that will give you a nice sun kiss glow - safely.

Tips on How to Hide Thinning Hair Bald Patches
Hi, do you any tips on how to hide thinning hair especially in the crown area?
YouTips4u Ans. Hi, I have several suggestions for you:
First, you want to create some volume to cover up the thinning. You can do this by getting a cut that layers your hair in the crown area as with layered bangs or you can have long bangs.
Also, blow dry your hair upside down to enhance volume. You may also want to use a volumizing spray or mousse to help hold the volume. Spray at the roots then gentle lift the hair from the scalp while you blow dry upside down.
You may also want to consider getting highlights. Highlights create volume because they cause the hair shaft to swell and they also create depth. Highlights and low lights also work very well. They can be especially nice if you have a layered cut. Speak to your stylist and tell him/her what you are trying to achieve. They can be very effectively placed for enhanced volume.
There is also a product on the market called Toppik. http://amzn.to/1VwbCK9
I have not tried it, but I have heard that it really helps to hide thinning spots where scalp may be exposed. Toppik fibers are made of keratin protein and when you shake it on your thinning or bald areas, it intertwines with your own hair and bonds securely. It comes in different colors to match your hair color.

How to do a Patch Test to Test a Product for Allergy
Hi, in your last video about losing hair, you mentioned that you should always test products like hair dye first before applying them to your scalp. Can you tell me how I would go about that?
YouTips4U: Hi, people with sensitive skin should be extra careful when using new products especially things like hair dye. A great way to test to see if you have an allergic response to a product is to do a patch test. Simply place a few drops or smudges of the product onto a band-aid and stick it to your inner forearm. Leave it there for about 24 hours and do not get it wet. After 24 hours have passed, remove the bandage and check for any redness, itching or blisters. This process should be repeated for a second and then a third 24 hour period. If you do not notice any irritation and skill looks smooth and clear after the entire 72 hour process, then your product is fine to use.

Eat Fruit to Help You Lose Weight
Fruit is a very healthy snack, but it does contain sugar. However, there
is a silver lining to the sugar contained in fruit and that is that fruit also contains fiber. Fiber helps your body digest food more slowly which helps to improve your insulin response to the sugar. So if you need a pick-me-up snack, reach for fruit. Here are some great fruits that are also low in calories and high in fiber.
1. Grapefruits. Grapefruits are low in sugar and high in fiber and they actually make you feel fuller. A tip for you is to eat 1/2 a grapefruit before your meal and you will eat less and feel fuller. You'll also get much needed Vitamin C!
2. Apples. Remember the old saying "an apple a day helps keep the doctor away", well it's a great saying to live by. Apples are high in fiber, again great for keeping your tummy full. They are a great snack and can be dressed up with peanut butter or cheese for a more hearty small meal during the day or before a workout. It's best if you don't peel your apple because much of the fiber is in the skin.
3. Bananas. Many people think bananas are fattening, however this is simply not so. They contain "resistant starch" a type of fiber that your body digests more slowly and that helps to keep blood sugar stable and you feel satisfied longer. It's best to eat bananas when they don't have black spots because as they ripen, those healthy starches turn to sugar which ups the calories for the banana. I like them with just a tiny bit of green toward the stem and the rest of the banana bright yellow. No spots!
$. Raspberries. Raspberries have the most fiber of all the berries. One cup of raspberries has twice as much fiber as one cup of blueberries. They are also very satisfying to eat because of the hand to mouth experience. Because raspberries are only about one calorie each, you can just grap handfuls, rinse them off and eat as much as you like.
I hope you found this helpful and that it will encourage you to eat more fruit and not avoid these naturally sweet snacks which can be so beneficial for you.

Sleep More and Lose Weight
There is solid evidence linking lack of sleep to excess weight. Research has shown that people who sleep less consume more calories. When your body does not get enough sleep, you lack energy and store more fat. You will find that you need to eat more throughout the day to keep your body moving and doing the tasks that are required to do to get you through the day. You'll crave more sweets to give your brain the energy boost it needs. Make it a point to get at least 7 hours of sleep each night, 8 hours is optimal. Getting only 5 hours or less can leave you vulnerable to weight gain. Some of you may find that 6-7 is optimal for you; each person is different. Gauge the way you feel when you get 6, 7, or 8 hours of sleep and see how you feel. Then make every effort to get your required optimal zzzz's each night. Not only will you feel better and perform better throughout the day, but you will look better too. Your hair will have shine, your complexion will stay clearer and you will avoid illness more readily because your immunity will stay strong. I personally can attest that I need 8 hours to feel optimal. It can be hard with a family and work to try to get those required hours, but with a little planning ahead of time I can usually do it 5 out of 7 days a week. I definitely feel the difference when I get only 6 or 7. I am a personal who is extremely active and requires a high energy level to complete my daily tasks which include taking care of my family and home, exercising and working. Without adequate sleep, I usually find that I'll have trouble reaching my full potential for the day, especially in my exercise intensity, and I find that I will need to eat more to stay energized. So start tonight and make sleep a priority!

Curry in Your Diet Fights Cancer
Turmeric, a main ingredient of curry, has been used liberally in Indian cooking, for centuries. Its yellow pigment called curcumin helps ward off many diseases including cancer. Recent studies have shown that curcumin inhibits the growth of many cancers including prostate cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer, and may even prevent and slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease by removing amyloyd plaque buildup in the brain. It is very easy to get this wonderful healing spice into your diet and you don't have to be talented in the preparation of indian dishes. I simply keep a container of Turmeric and Curry Powder in my cupboard which you can buy in any spice section of the supermarket. I sprinkle it on many dishes to add lots of flavor and zest. I love it on baked chicken, eggs, and ground turkey, and I cook it into rice dishes and pasta dishes as well as sprinkle it on potates. Another super easy way to add it to your diet is to sprinkle some into your soups. If you are pregnant, please consult your doctor before adding Turmeric to your diet as it can be a uterine stimulant. Also, Turmeric should not be used by people with gallstones or bile obstruction.

Wonderful and Natural Acne/Pimple Cure
I have a wonderful tip for you on how you can help heal your acne. This treatment targets your entire face all at once, not just individual pimples and it's called Steaming. I recently uploading a video on YouTube on herbal steam inhalation to help remedy coughs, colds, and chest congestion. Inhaling the steam that rises off of a pot of boiling water containing tea bags (eucalyptus, chamomile, and ginkgo biloba) helps heal inflamed lung tissue, thin mucus, and soothe nasal passages, but it also does something else that's absolutely wonderful: it gives you the smoothest, most glowing healthy skin. If you are doing this treatment solely for your skin, you may use just the chamomile tea bag in the pot of boiling water. Chamomile has antibacterial and antiviral properties and when soaked into the skin through hot steam, helps to open and unclog pores and heal acne. The results are amazing! You do have to do it consistently; I would recommend at least once per day for best results. After as little as three days you will see improvement in your acne. You will see improvements to you skin quality almost immediately, and it feels so wonderful and relaxing. For information on how to do this wonderful natural skin and acne treatment, please see my video on YouTube. Here is the link for you: Herbal Steam Remedy Treatment for Coughs, Colds, Chest Congestion, ACNE/PIMPLES & Glowing Skin
I really hope you will make this a regular part of your life. You will love the effects on your skin. I promise!

How to Make Your Hair Color Last Longer - Tips for Pool, Sun, and Surf
Hi YouTips4U, what can I do to make my hair color last longer. It's so expensive to keep up and I feel it fades too quickly for me.
YouTips4U Ans. I know how frustrating that can be with certain hair colors. What you want to do is avoid prolonged sun exposure as that is the number one culprit of fading hair color. If you must be in the sun for an extended period of time, be sure you wear a hat and spray your hair with a UV block conditioner mixed with a little water. Also, you want to limit your hair's exposure to chlorinated pool water, this is another culprit in fading hair color. If you are a swimmer and being exposed to chlorinated pool water is a frequent occurrence, be very diligent about protecting your hair before you dive in. I recommend that you first wet your hair down with regular tap water and then apply either a hair oil like jojoba oil or olive oil, or use a conditioner. By wetting your hair down with regular tap water, you prevent your hair from absorbing the chlorine water because it has already absorbed the fresh water. Coating it with olive or jojoba oil will help block out the chlorinated water because oil repels water. It's also a wonderful way to condition your hair while you exercise. Lastly and also of great importance is "wear a swim cap" also called a bathing cap. Simply twist your hair into a bun and stuff it all under the cap. This will protect your hair from freely flowing through all the chlorinated water. When you come out of the pool rinse your hair well, shampoo and condition as usual.
Finally, to protect your hair color from fading, you want to use a shampoo for color-treated hair. These shampoos are specially formulated and gentle and will have the right combination of ingredients to make your color last. I highly recommend them. Please do avoid overwashing your hair; shampooing two to three times a week is sufficient. The more you shampoo, the more you can fade you color.

Great Solutions for Your Problem Area - Flabby Upper Arms
Spring and summer are upon us and that means we show more skin. Unfortunately, if you have excess fat and lack of muscle tone in your upper arms, they can be flabby and jiggly and you may want to try to minimize that as best you can while you work on toning them up with resistance training. Please see my video on weight lifting to tone your arms at home. Here is the link to my YouTube video: Weight Lifting/Training Exercises to Tone Arms, Workout Biceps, Triceps, Chest & Shoulder Muscles
Please also see my video on push ups. These are wonderful for your whole upper body and should be done regularly. Here is the YouTube link to that video: Top-Rated Upper Body Exercise, PUSH UPS, Workout & Build Chest, Arms, Abs, Core Muscles with PUSHUPS
In the mean time how do we dress to hide those flabby upper arms. I have a few do's and don'ts.
1. Avoid tank tops and capped sleeves and anything skintight around your upper arm because that will only bring attention to the loose flesh. Instead, select loose fitting sleeves that stop about three inches above your elbow.
2. Going out for a special occasion and want to wear something sexy? Don't fret, wearing off-the-shoulder tops with longer sleeves will help to accentuate your neck and bust and take attention away from your arms. You can buy dresses or tops with this look and it is so elegant, and don't forget silky, flowing fabrics offer a beautiful soft effect.
So don't hide your arms in long sleeves during the hot summer, simply select tops and blouses that don't accentuate your upper arms, but draw attention elsewhere. And don't forget those pushups!

Great Solutions to Appear Thinner in Your Problem Areas - Big Butt
One of the most common complaints from women is that they are unhappy with the size of their butt. Sometimes no matter how much exercise we do, our butts still need a little camouflaging. A tight, toned bottom is always our ultimate goal, but for butts that are still working toward that goal, there are many ways to hide it a bit while it is still in metamorphosis.
1. You want to avoid tucking in your shirts. Not only does it put more volume in the way of fabric into that area, but drawing in your waist accentuates your butt. Also avoid skimpy tops as they will make your bottom half look bigger.
2. You want to avoid cropped tops and jackets and jeans with detailing on the back. Also avoid leggings or pants with very skinny legs.
3. Avoid covering a skirt with a sweater; it makes you look bigger in the bottom area.
4. It's best to wear darker bottoms rather than brighter colors so your eye won't be drawn to the bright bottom.
5. Fully cut pants work best as do sheath dresses, and long blazers.
6. You want to draw attention upward with larger earrings, and bright colorful scarves as well as bright tops.
Keep exercising and maintain a healthy diet. Strengthening your gluteus maximus muscles will help to shape and tone your butt and make it more shapely. You need a consistent exercise routine of cardio and resistance training to achieve your results. It can take time, but in the mean time you have my helpful clothing tips. One day the butterfly will emerge from the cocoon and show off its bright beautiful colors!

Great Solutions to Appear Thinner in Your Problem Areas - Tick Waistline and Tummy Pouch
It takes work to achieve a flat tummy and small waistline, so exercise is key. You need a combination of cardio exercise to burn excess fat and calories as well as toning and resistance exercises like crunches/sit ups. There are many styles you can wear to compliment a full figure. Colorful boxy jackets or double-breasted styles that fall just below your hips are very flattering. It's best to stay away from clingy knits. The best fabric choices are lighter, thinner materials that fall elegantly and thus hide the mid-section; fabrics like rayon and silk. Here are some additional do's and don'ts:
1. Choose dresses with empire waists; they draw attention up and away from the waist. Shirtdresses are also a good choice to camouflage a thick middle.
2. Select any dress, sweater, or top with a "V" neckline. The deeper the "V" the better. You want to create vertical lines for length and slimming effect.
3. Tailored pants and narrow legs are a good choice. Baggy paints are a no no.
4. Thin belts are best. Wide ones draw too much attention to your waistline.
5. You want to avoid wearing gathered or pleated skirts, horizontal stripes, tight tops, and jackets belted at the waist. All of these can draw your eye right to or enhance a larger midsection.

Great Solutions to Appear Thinner in Your Problem Areas - Thighs
Depending on our body shape, we all have areas of our bodies that are our trouble spots. No matter what your weight or height, women of all sizes need help in camouflaging certain spots. I have some tips for you on how you can accentuate the positive while taking attention away from the negative, simply by altering your clothing. Just wearing black is not the answer, so please check back daily as I will be covering a different area of the body each day: thick waistline or tummy pouch, big thighs, big butt, wide hips, flabby upper arms, small breasts.
Today we'll discuss some tips on how to dress to deal with big thighs. This is a problem area for so many women, so if you are one of them, you're not alone. Whether they are heavy or simply muscular from years of exercise, or you have a genetic predisposition to that area of your body being larger, I have a few tricks to streamline those thighs.
1. To make your legs look longer and leaner, wear at least a two-inch heal; they do wonders for elongating your legs and help to accentuate the muscles in your calf which helps your legs look better.
2. When you choose a bathing suit, opt for one that is high-cut at the thigh because that creates an illusion of longer, leaner thighs. Darker colors are preferred for maximum slimming effect.
4. Buying jeans can be a challenge because many styles have legs that tend to be skin tight. Opt for more of a classic fit rather than a straight fit with a flare at the bottom. Also, no side pockets; they tend to accentuate the hips. Best to buy jeans with flat, front pockets. Do not buy them too tight it's just not flattering.
5. Making your shoulders look subtly wider can create the illusion of the balanced figure. Softly-padded shoulders can do this nicely as can boat-neck tops.
5. Avoid bright-colored bottoms because the eye will focus there first. Best to select a light or bright top and darker bottom. You also want to avoid horizontal lines on your tops because they are widening to your figure.
6. Avoid clingy knits like sweater dresses.
7. Avoid tight tops that emphasize the fact that your hips are wider than your shoulders. Sometimes this is a matter of the style of the top; so try it on and decide.
Paying attention to balance is really the trick. Take a photo of yourself for a before and after test. In the first photo you should wear something wrong for your figure, like a horizontal striped top and light pants. Then implement the better choice (e.g. solid boat-neck top and darker jeans) for your after photo and see how you look. With a little practice, you can become an expert at enhancing your figure.

A Low Impact Way to Stay Fit
Swimming is a wonderful full-body workout that many people don't think of when they think of exercise. Not only is it a great exercise for anyone with a bad back or other health concern that prevents them from running, walking, etc., but it is also a wonderful stress reliever. The repetitive motion of stroking back and forth in water can dissolve away stress. So if you are looking for a terrific low-impact, high intensity (or low intensity depending on how fast you swim) cardio vascular exercise to help you get fit, burn calories and stay healthy, swimming is a wonderful choice.

Which is Better Weight Lifting with Dumbbells or Machines?
The answer is they are both great, and here's what you should know. When you lift using dumbbells, you have to lift as well as balance which causes your smaller stabilizing muscles to work harder. Machines, on the other hand, keep the weights steady for you, so you don't work your smaller stabilizing muscles as much, but because the machines do the stabilizing for you, you are often able to lift more pounds than with free weights and therefore bulk up faster. Machines make it possible for you to work your larger muscles more. In my opinion it's best to do both. I love the machines for ease of use and stability and form, but I also use dumbbells so that I don't neglect my smaller stabilizers. Keeping your smaller stabilizer muscles fit helps to prevent injury because they are the support network for the larger muscles.

Wash Your Makeup Brushes to Help Prevent Acne
If you take good care of your makeup brush, they will last you a long time. I always recommend natural bristle brushes, both for hair and for makeup. Natural bristles are more pliable and hold powder better. Washing your makeup brushes is very helpful if you suffer from acne breakouts because it helps remove the pimmple causing oils and bacteria that can naturally build up on your brushes from repeated use. That bacteria can remain on your brush and then get spread around your face. For best results always use your makeup brushes on clean dry skin. If any of your pimples are oozing because you just picked, avoid touching it with your makeup brush. As least once a month, you should wash your brushes with a clarifying shampoo. Massaging in between the bristles with the lather. I recommend a clarifying shampoo because it has less moisturizers to remain on your brushes and rinses clean. Rinse them well and shake them out over your sink. Lay them flat on your counter on a towel and let them air dry. If you see you have any bristles that are popping out from the rest, simply trim them off. Once they are dry you are good to go.

Tip to Help You Stay on Target with Your Diet and Exercise Goals - Write it Down!
I have a great tip for you to help you stick to your exercise fitness goals, whether they be to tone up, lose weight, slim down, or add more muscle. Remind yourself every day why you want to stay focused on your goals by putting it in writing. Write down or key in a list of reasons (try to come up with at least 10), and keep your list handy. Put it on your smartphone, your ipad, your screensaver, or just a note stuck to your fridge, but keep it close by and easily accessible. People who write down the reasons why they want to achieve something are much more successful in achieving their goals. Read your list when you wake up and take it out every time you have a weak moment. I found keeping it in my purse to be very helpful because I can easily whip it out in the supermarket or movie theater or wherever I need a a friendly reminder. It will be a comfort and a motivation for you.

Prevent Your Hands From Making You Look Older
Hi Ladies, something we never think about protecting, but can show signs of aging sometimes earlier than our faces can are our hands. Have you ever watched a soap opera and the older actresses look wonderful. Their faces are radiant and wrinkle free. Well I'm sure they took good care of their skin as well as probably had a bit of plastic surgery. The problem is when you see their hands. Their age is given away immediately. As we age, the skin on our hands gets thinner normally as we lose some of our fat layers, but the real damage comes from dry skin and sun exposure. It's important to remember that our hands are usually always exposed to the elements. In the winter they can get cold and chapped if you are not diligent about applying moisturizer and wearing gloves. In the summer, the sun hits them constantly wherever you may be outdoors, whether your watching your children play sports in the stands, or hanging out at the beach. Your hands also get constant exposure to the sun when driving. Many people don't think of applying sunscreen to their hands, but it is, most certainly, necessary to prevent premature aging, sun spots, freckling, and wrinkling of your hands. So take care of your hands and protect them like you would protect your face. And while I'm at it, let me remind you that in addition to protecting your face with moisturizers and sunscreen, you should also protect your neck. Your neck area has very thin skin and is exposed to the elements as much as your face. Don't leave it unprotected. Remember to apply your moisturizer with sunscreen to your neck area as well.

Your Most Important Makeup Necessities When You're in a Rush
Don't have time for makeup because you're in a big hurry to get somewhere or pick someone up. We don't always have time to put our makeup on the way we like to when we want to look our best. Sometimes we are so rushed and barely have time for lip gloss, but it's worth taking that extra minute to enhance your appearance with just two simple products: 1) Bronzer, and 2) Lipstick or Lip Gloss with pigment.
Bronzer is one of the most beneficial makeup accessories. Just a quick dusting gives you a healthy sun-kissed glow, makes you look less tired, brings out your hair's natural highlights (or applied highlights)and can make that wait for summer seem bearable. A tip on application: avoid applying the bronzer on your pimples as it will make them darker and more visible; simply avoid brushing over them. Also, if you have facial lines, try to avoid brushing the bronzer into those lines as it will collect in them and enhance the lines. Simply avoid brushing bronzer over them.
The second necessity is Lipstick or Lip Gloss (you choose, but if you choose lip gloss, select one with pigment). Lipstick or lip gloss adds color and definition to your mouth, and makes your smile stand out so you're more apt to be friendlier and smile more often. You will also avoid chapped lips, sun damage, and licking your lips constantly.

Find Your Beauty
Hi Ladies, we can all find something we don't like on ourselves. Well, I have some tips for you on how you can change the way you feel about yourself simply by changing your attitude.
For each thing you don't like about yourself, find something you do like. It could be as simple as pretty lips, dimples, dark eyelashes, big eyes. Now put the emphasis on those parts! So if you don't like your eyes, but you love your lips, play up your lips with bright lipstick, but keep your eyes more neutral. This goes for your body as well.
Now, for the things you don't like. Change them if you can. If you feel you are overweight, exercise and start maintaining a healthy diet. Don't like your hair, visit a salon and find out what your options are for a style that works for you. Don't just feel bad about these things if you are able to do something about them.
For the things you cannot change, simply let them go. You must accept that they are part of who you are. They are the things that make you "you". Anyone who cares about you wouldn't want you to change those things because they are familiar, recognizable and special. That's how you stay positive and happy through life. Very often the things you find unattractive or problematic, like a mole on your face, or perhaps freckles, others see as distinctive and simply make you "you".
So I say, for the things you can and want to change "make it happen" you can absolutely do that. For the things you cannot change, embrace them and move on and focus on what you like about yourself. You will exhibit more confidence and people will be drawn to that inner beauty and peace that comes out of a person who is truly comfortable in their own body. Their smile is genuine and simply lights up a room and makes others feel at ease. Draw yourself out, not in, and you will find the secret to a happy life :o)

Hair Color Can Enhance Your Haircut
You can really enhance your haircut with color. The right color can also enhance your skin. If you have layered hair, which is one of the most frequently requested haircuts at salons, adding highlights throughout your hair can greatly accentuate the layers and add depth and definition to your haircut. The beauty of layered hair is seeing the layers and fullness. Highlights enable your cut to pop! You may not need to do the entire head, just the top 2-3 layers may be enough to create a sense of depth to your hair.
If you have a sleek, straight or blunt cut and want lots of shine, you'll want to use a rich single-process color. All over one color reflects more light and lays smooth. When choosing a color, keep your skin tone in mind. You don't want to stray too far from your natural color or you could look pale or washed out. Coloring your hair slightly lighter than your natural shade can help soften fine lines and wrinkles and bring light to your face. It creates a more youthful glow.

How to Gain Weight
Hi, I have two babies and during both pregnancies I lost so much weight. Now I would love to gain more weight. I would like to have a really small waist and big booty and legs, but I just don't know what to do. I know I have to eat to gain weight for my butt, and eat right for my waist and stomach. Right now I weigh 115 lbs. I would like to weigh 140. Can you help me?
YouTips4U Ans.: Trying to gain weight can take time just like losing weight can because you want to gain weight with healthy foods not junk foods that are high in saturated fats, trans fats, and refined sugar. I recommend adding more healthy fats and proteins to your diet like lean meats, fish, poultry, olive oil, peanut butter or other nut butters, nuts, seeds, avocados, things that will be more calorie dense. You'll also want to add healthy carbohydrates like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Whenever you have an apple, add some peanut butter. Eat these calorie dense meals more frequently and you will gain weight. Eat five or six smaller balanced meals throughout the day rather than eating three large meals. This is also helpful if you are not used to eating a lot at one sitting.
You will want to focus your exercise more on resistance exercises such as lifting weights. This will help you firm and tone your body and is a better choice for gaining weight than aerobic/cardio exercises. Cardio exercise such as running, jogging, and cycling is better for fat loss. Excessive aerobic training may cause you to lose more weight. You can do resistance exercises at home with sit ups, push ups, and dumbbells, or in a gym with weight equipment. Please visit my YouTube Channel as I have many exercise videos uploaded that you can do right at home to help you have a toned shapely figure.

Get Energized Without Coffee/Caffeine
Are you having trouble concentrating in class. Are you nodding off in a meeting. Well, I have some tips that will help energize you:
1. Eat some dark chocolate. Not only is dark chocolate loaded with anti-oxidants, but it is a wonderful mood booster that's loaded with energy-boosting flavanols which are found in cocoa. This is my absolute favorite energy snack.
2. Inhaling the scent of peppermint. Sniffing peppermint can be a wonderful mood booster to help keep you alert. Either suck on a peppermint lifesaver, or what I prefer is to keep a tiny bottle of peppermint aroma oil at your desk. Simply dab a bit on your pulse points and you'll perk right up.
3. Take out a piece of paper and start doodling. Doodling can help refocus and boost your attention. This is especially great for students.

Listen to Your Body
Hi Everybody, we live in a world that's all about pushing ourselves so we don't look weak. We don't want others to think we are wimpy or can't handle things. I've heard dad's tell their sons "tough it out" "it'll build character". Well this type of thinking is great for accomplishing tasks that you otherwise want to give up on, but it's not a good way to take care of your body. We need to teach our children and ourselves to get in touch with out bodies. Our bodies do speak to us and tell us when we are not feeling well or need sleep or perhaps food. I have always encouraged my children to listen to their bodies. If they are not feeling well, there is no reason to push them to go to school. If they are very tired, I encourage them to sleep in. We must honor our bodies and in turn our body will take good care of us. If you are sick, you will get well much quicker instead of going in the other direction which is often a long drawn-out bronchitis or other complication from not taking care of a cold. Also, I encourage you all to listen to your tummy. When it feels hungry, eat, and pay attention to when it feels full. Stop eating before you feel very stuffed. Remember, your brain doesn't register how full you are for 15 minutes, and if you are a fast eater, you can easily overeat, so slow down and listen to your body. Take it easy on yourself and not just your health, but your appearance as well. We all have attributes of our physical appearance that we don't like, or perhaps like less. Try not to focus on the parts you don't like and pay attention to the parts you do like. Remember, you may think something is so obvious, and usually another person looking at you won't even see it. We tend to magnify our problem areas beyond what is truly reality. A lot of this can be blamed on the media for highlighting problem areas constantly, but keep in mind that it is their job as they are usually trying to sell you something. The only way for you to "buy it" is for you to think it will improve something you fear or feel badly about. Take it all with a grain of salt and realize that you are beautiful inside and out. If you have a beautiful heart and soul, it will shine through and captivate people; this I promise you. People will be drawn to your inner beauty like a magnet and because your inner beautiful is so bright they will be unable to see any physical flaw you may have. I hope this will help remind you to go easy on yourself, listen to your inner voice, and take care of yourself.

Give Yourself A Manicure - Quick Tips for Pretty Nails
You don't have to have a lot of time on your hands to give yourself a manicure as good as the professionals. Follow these great tips:
Step 1: Soak hands and nails in warm water mixed with olive oil to soften and moisturize cuticles.
Step 2: Gently push back your cuticles using either a wooden popsicle stick or use a stone cuticle pusher.
Step 3: File your nails with a fine file and always file in one direction. Using a coarse nail file, or sawing back and forth makes your nails more prone to breakage.
Step 4: When you're ready to polish, wash your hands first with soap and water. Soap nails to remove any oils. Getting rid of oils on your nails will help polish adhere better and prevent chipping.
Step 5: First, apply a base coat. Base coats keep colored nail polish from staining your nails, and create a nice smooth surface so color goes on evenly and lasts longer. Let dry.
Step 6: Apply polish. For best application, wipe one side of the brush against the mouth of the bottle to remove excess polish. Paint three strokes on each nail: one down the middle, then one on each side. Apply a bit of polish to the very tips of your nail to help prevent chips. Let Dry. Apply second coat. Let Dry. Finish with a clear top coat.
Final Tips: Always apply nail polish in thin layers. Thick coats will not stick to your nails as well and cause them to chip quicker. Use a Q-tip dipped in nail polish remover to gently remove any smudges on your fingers. To help keep your polish looking great, apply a fresh coat of clear top coat every other day or as needed.
One of my favorite nail polishes is OPI. It lasts, and comes in great colors. These are terrific salon quality nail polishes. Don't want to spend the extra money, consider just buying the base coat and top coat so you have your cheaper polish sandwiched between good polishes.

Drink Water First
Hi Everybody, if you have cravings to eat, but you're not really hungry, you may be thirsty! Instead of reaching for a snack, reach for a glass or bottle of water. Very often we misinterpret out body's call for water as a call for food. So before you reach for food, drink water first. If you truly are hungry, you will still be hungry after drinking the water. Drinking water throughout the day helps keep you hydrated, your metabolism running smoothly, your skin looking great, and your concentration level at its best. Even a mild case of dehydration can affect your memory. So to all my readers who are students with their SATs eminent, be sure you're hydrated for the test, and good luck!

Just Checking In - Some Motivating Tips if You Haven't Gotten Started Yet
Did you have a plan to lose weight and get fit this year? Have you started it yet? Perhaps you started it and have already stopped it. Well, I'm checking in on you to help keep you motivated. Spring is coming and for many people that means more outdoor exercise time and showing more skin. I know you don't want to go through another spring and summer season feeling bad about the way you look or that you didn't follow through with your goal to get in shape. That's why I'm here to help reroute you back on track with a little encouragement.
How about just getting outside and walking around your neighborhood for starters. Just put one foot in front of the other and do it. You will feel so much better because you are taking a step in the right direction. Our bodies simply love to walk. While you're at it, take a look around. Get to know the weather; how the sky looks on a sunny day, or when it's about to rain. Listen to the birds; they will tell you what's coming, spring, or a thunderstorm. Make walking a daily habit. Buy a reflector vest and walk in the evening instead of reaching for a box of cookies. Once your confidence builds and your fitness level increases, think about joining a gym or perhaps buying some dumbbells. Joining a gym is great because you are sharing your desire to be fit with others. All of you in there are there to take care of yourselves and look and feel healthier. It's about making small changes to your habits and creating new habits. Swap foods. If you are used to having a donut or muffin for breakfast, have a bowl of high fiber cereal instead and a piece of fruit. Shrink your portions. I find using a small plate instead of a large 10" dinner plate is very helpful. You can't put as much food on it as you can a large plate. Cut out the junk food. Reach for healthy snacks. Fruits, veggies, yogurt, nuts (in moderation of course). Keep some ready-made foods that you prepared ahead of time in the fridge to eat and snack on when you come home and you're hungry so you don't reach for junk food to quell your hunger. It takes a little planning ahead, but it's better to eat your own prepared salad with cut up chicken breast, than to grab a sandwich from the deli. Make your diet and your health your priority.
Have children,I do,and I know that you can't always find time for yourself when you are always caring for others. You have to make time. Hire a sitter if you have to so you can get to the gym. That can be your "me" time and you will feel wonderful and better able to cope with the demands of family life. Exercise is not just good for your body, but also for your mind and stress levels. It helps keep your hormones in check so they don't overtake your emotions and it helps keep your appetite preferred to healthier foods.
So, if you haven't yet started on your journey, no worries, start now! This minute! Today! There is no time like the present. Don't look backward and regret what you haven't done, but look forward to the wonderful promise of the new "you". You can "make it happen."

Best Way to Cover Your Pimples and Zits
Break outs and blemishes happen and thankfully there are products we can use to cover them up. Unfortunately, many times covering them up can make them look worse. Here are some tips to help you hide your pimples beautifully.
Your acne is red and swollen and covering it up only makes the bumps look bigger. What you can do is apply a heavy concealer that is a shade lighter than your skin. Try to select one that has ingredients like aloe to calm swelling and salicylic acid to heal blemishes. There are quite a few of these on the market. Apply your foundation, then dot a small amount of concealer on top of the pimple. Blend the edges with your finger or a sponge.
Your pimple has gone away, but you now have a dark spot and it shows through when you cover it up. Select a foundation that adjusts to the color of your skin to even out your skin tone. These are light and lovely. Then apply a stick concealer to the dark spot that matches your skin tone to lighten the dark mark. Blend the concealer with your finger until it disappears into the foundation.
You have whiteheads which can be difficult to cover. Your best bet is a mineral concealer made of loose particles that reflect and diffuse light to take attention away from the white center. Simply apply your regular foundation, then dip a concealer brush into the pot of loose concealer and brush it directly on top of the whiteheads and blend outward. Add a little extra to the white center of the whiteheads.
You skin around your pimple is flaking and concealer just gets caught up in it making your face look cakey. First wash the flaky area with a gentle exfoliating cleanser, Neutrogena has a great one for sensitive skin, or use a wash cloth to gently slough skin. Smooth on an oil-free moisturizer. Then dab a thin layer of foundation onto the pimple and blend. Repeat application of thin light layers of foundation until the pimple is covered.
Remember, you don't need to apply foundation all over your face, only to the areas that you feel need evening out. Only wear makeup and concealer, etc. when you need to face the world. If you are just hanging out at home, keep your face makeup free and just treat pimples with a benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid pimple treatment. Be sure you wash your face every night before bed. Sleeping with makeup is the worst thing you can do for your skin. Apply acne treatment before bed each night. That's the best time to heal your skin as your body goes through great repair when sleeping. Also, stress causes breakouts. Try to minimize the stress in your life by practicing relaxation, getting enough sleep at night, exercising, and maintaining a healthy diet with as little processed foods as possible. Processed foods are often high in salt, sugar, and fat; all bad for your skin.

What To Do For Various Foot Problems
Our feet are so important to our everyday comfort and we don't always appreciate them until we have a problem with them. Very often we let things go until we are in quite a bit of discomfort. Here are some helpful tips for dealing with very common foot ailments and some tips to prevent their occurrence.
Athlete's Foot - I have found Lamisil to be by far the best at curing athlete's foot fungus. If you are prone to athletes foot be sure to spray your sneakers with sneaker spray disinfectant after each prolonged exercise use. Also, you may want to use a medicated foot powder during prolonged periods of sweating.
Plantar Warts - salicylic wart pads work best and can be trimmed to the proper size to cover just the wart. You'll want to use a pumice stone (you can purchase one in any drugstore)to buff off the top layer before applying the wart pad. Be sure to wear flip flops/shower shoes whenever you shower in any public shower area to help prevent exposure to plantar's warts virus.
Ingrown Toenail- very common if you do not cut your toenails straight across. Soak your foot in warm water for at least 10 minutes each day and apply an antibacterial ointment or tea tree oil. Be sure to trim toenails straight across to avoid this reoccurring and place a drop of tea tree oil on each toe after trimming to reduce chances of infection.
Blister - had a great night dancing in your high heels, but now you're in pain with a blister - place some antibiotic ointment on it and cover it with a hydrocolloid gel bandage. These bandages are non-permeable by bacteria and speed the healing process. They are also waterproof and transparent, so you can observe the wound without taking off the bandage.
Corn or Callus - use a pumice stone (you can purchase one in any drugstore) to gently buff away the top layers of the skin. Then apply moisturizer morning and night.

Reusable Grocery Bags Can Contain Harmful Bacteria
Reusable grocery bags can contain quite a few serious germs, including E. coli, that can lead to sickness. Here's how the contamination occurs: you put fresh fruits and vegetables in your bag and the germs and pesticides slough off and stay behind in your bag. Or perhaps you purchase a package of raw meat and some of the juices leak out into your bag. These germs embed themselves in the bad and are now transferable to other food products and your hands as they are reused. The danger is that you can get food poisoning caused by the transference of these germs to your mouth. It's the same type of cross-contamination that can occur by using a cutting board for meat and then veggies or fruits without washing the cutting board and utensils in between. You can protect yourself from this cross-contamination of germs by being sure you use cotton bags and that you launder or wash them after every shopping trip.

Tips for Waxing
Be sure when scheduling a wax appointment that you mention all the services you want done. Many women will schedule a bikini wax and then ask for a leg wax later during the appointment. This can result in rushed performance or you having to go back and have it done at a later date because sometimes different technicians work on different areas of the body.
For best results, be sure leg and bikini hair are at least 1/4 of an inch long if hair is fine or at least 1/2 inch long if it's coarse. That means you will probably have to wax every two to four weeks.
If you are planning on having any part of your face waxed, don't use any product containing retinol for a week to 10 days before. Retinol products can cause skin to be ultra-senstive and using wax on skin treated with retinol can cause skin to burn and become irritated, sometimes skin can be ripped off with the wax.
What's better for the bikini area? Hard wax. Hard wax is less painful as it can be peeled off as opposed to pulled off when strip wax is used.
To manage the pain associated with a fresh waxing, take Advil an hour before your appointment. If despite the Advil it still hurts while waxing is being performed, ask the beautician to apply wax strips to smaller areas at a time. After wax treatment is finished, apply aloe vera lotion to your newly waxed skin, or use a hydrocortisone cream if you get any red bumps.

What's the Sexiest Color to Wear to Attract a Man?
Want a little extra help in the dating scene to help attract a man? Wear red. Red on a woman is a powerful aphrodisiac and men are not even aware of this. Studies showed that men consistently perceived a woman wearing red as sexier and were more than half as likely to ask her out compared with a woman wearing blue. This seems to be preferred only in men, not women. Red seems to have deep psychological roots to attraction in a man's biology. So ladies, if you're going out on the town and hoping that Mr. Right will come along and sweep you off your feet, you may want to help stack the odds in your favor a bit by wearing a red top or dress.

Alleviate Sinus Congestion/Stuffy Nose Due to Colds and Allergies
I have a terrific video on YouTube for this cold season to help alleviate congestion, sinus infections and colds. It uses a technique called irrigation. It's very easy and I show you two ways you can do it; using the store bought kit or the at-home method which works just as well. This is a wonderful treatment for relief from cold symptoms as well as allergies, but what do you do if you cannot get the water to flow from one nostril to the other as is shown because you are so stuffed up. Well, I have a natural suggestion for you because I am not one who uses over-the-counter medications. I always try to use the natural approach whenever possible as many of you know by now. Boil some water in a pot on the stove (I use a large pot that I cook pasta in). Once it's boiling, remove it and bring it to a table where you can sit in front of it. Place your face over the steam that rises out of the hot water. Place a towel over your head and the pot to help keep the steam in so it does just going out into the air. You've created your own little steam bath. Breath naturally and regularly and just let the hot steam go up into your nose. Do not breath deeply. Be very careful you don't get too close to the water at first because initially the steam is very hot. It's very easy to burn the inside of your nose or your eyes, so do sit far enough back in the beginning. Perhaps keep the towel partially open if you feel the steam is too hot. Just alter the position of your head and the towel until you feel comfortable. Much of this may depend on the size of the pot you are using. Within 5 minutes, the temperature of the steam becomes more comfortable and you can get a little closer to the pot. Keep a box of tissues nearby because you will need them. Once you have cleared your sinuses, then you can use the irrigation treatment I show you in the YouTube video and you should be able to get the water through. I promise you, you will feel so much better from it. Here is the YouTube link: Alleviate Congestion, Stuffy Nose Colds, Allergies & Sinus Infections with Nasal Irrigation/Wash

Help for Clearing Your Skin of Pimples
Hi YouTips4U, I hope you can help me. I wash my face three times a day and I have used so many different cleansers, but my face still breaks out with pimples. What should I do different?
YouTips4U: Using many different cleansers on your face just may be the cause of your problem. When you stop one cleanser and start another, very often you are swinging your skin between getting better and getting worse. You are never really giving your skin condition a chance to clear. In this case consistency would benefit you. I recommend that you stick to the same routine for about 2 months to give your face a chance to replace all the old infected skin cells with new ones. Wash your face twice a day with a cleanser that contains salicylic acid, then spot apply a benzoyl peroxide pimple treatment product to your pimples. The salicylic acid will help to unclog your pores and the acne treatment will help to kill bacteria and heal the pimples. If you have sensitive skin which is prone to dryness and redness, instead of using a cleanser with salicylic acid, I recommend you use a mild cleanser such as Purpose Soap-Free Face Wash, but do still spot treat your pimples. Also, you do want to pay attention to your diet. Foods high in fat, refined sugar and refined carbohydrates can contribute to breakouts, so keep your diet low fat and your carbs complex (whole grain). Exercise is another great skin healer. Exercise brings blood to your face and improves circulation and healing. Exercise will definitely help clear up your skin.
